For those that bring the kids along as extra weight in the trailer, where are the best trails? Do they need to be paved? Do the paved trails have many interruptions (crossroads, busy streets, etc...)?

What part of the cities do you live ?

Here in St paul there is lake Como and lake Phalen they both have good paved trails with few interuptions. Just about every park I have been to has some trails though they may not be to long.

Anywhere you go you will have to watch out for walkers, joggers and rollerbladers.

Brian, you might consider riding the south side of the MN river, from the Sibley House (Mendota) to/from the Cedar Ave bridge. It's gravel double-track, but a nice wooded route with no stops, no motor vehicles and very few people.

If that isn't enough, you can add the paved trails from the Sibley House to/from St. Paul.

Elm Creek Park in Maple Grove has some of the longest paved uninterrupted trails around the cities.

Wherever you ride with the trailer, be careful around turns. It doesn't take too much to flip on of those things over at speed. Slow corners are always a good idea! And remember if you can get your kid to do this :sleep2: you get a longer ride!
