Mellow Murphy Monday again. Chance of rain but we'll see how it goes. Sure would be nice to not ride in 90+ degrees again. :mad: Hopefully the rain did the trails some good.

Post up if you can make it. "dusk" is coming earlier and earlier so lets be ready to roll by 6:15.

I'll be there and bringing a friend. A friend from work got interested when I started telling her stories from the circle of love, so now she wants to come out and see things on her own. :laugh: Now only if I can get my bike working before then. I decided to leave my bike perfectly behind Jodi's car so that when she backed up she didnt see it, I guess I didn't give the Gnome enough respect....:banghead: Luckily it just pushed the front wheel a little out of true, but bad enough where the brakes lock up on every revolution.

I think I have a replacement wheel figured out, but if anyone has an extra 26" v-brake wheel they could just throw in their car, or a whole 19" bike, I could buy you a case of beer or something. I'm not looking to go crazy tomorrow, just showing my friend around.

Might not make this. Between having my power out for 36 hours and my truck battery dying, I have a few things to do tomorrow night. I'll try to get there in time.

A quick reminder: Murphy Hanerhan closes at sunset. That's about 8:30 now. We need to do our best to follow this rule. We don't need to make mountain bikers look bad in the eyes of the Park District. I know this isn't as popular as the 10 pm Lebanon closing, but this is a rule we need to follow if we want to continue to be in the good graces of Three Rivers. Thanks in advance!

As not-fun as it is, we really need to follow this guideline and set a good example to others. Perhaps someday we'll be able to night ride and/or stay later, but for now lets not push our luck.

I *think* it won't be long now before we shift our weekly ride over to Salem on Tuesdays. People can keep doing Mondays at Murphy if they want, of course, but soon its going to be too far to drive to ride one lap and have to go home... Our regular schedule in the fall is Tuesday Salem, Thursday Leb and perhaps this year we add Murphy on the weekend instead. In fact this may be the last Monday ride I post up, changing things over to day/night rides at Salem/Leb. Thats not a bad thing though... get your lights ready, because if you think day group rides are fun you HAVE to experience it at night! :D

Thanks to Dan B and Ryan B, I think I have all my bike troubles figured out. Thanks guys. My friend bailed early this morning too so I guess all my excuses to chill at the back of the pack are quickly evaporating.

I hope the weather stays, its freakin beautiful outside. And no power at work, so hopefully going home early today:banana::sleep2::sleep2::sleep2:

Indications are that we could see rain around 3pm and then severe storms around 9pm. Lets watch the weather close... check this thread before heading to the ride just in case. Since its dusk by 8:30 we should be off the trail and headed home before any severe weather hits, but I don't want to take chances having people out on a trail with anything brewing out there.

We still need the rain, so while I'm hoping for a ride I also don't mind seeing a few more inches of wet. I just wish it would come in slow soaking rain vs. the stuff that just runs off.

Fantastic ride tonight, thanks to Ryan for being mad pimp and letting me cruise on his bike.....and eat it on the log ride. Couldn't have ended the night better with Chipotle and then a little fireworks show with the lightning storm.

Totally hydro'd on 77 (in front of the mall of america) & spun out last night! The whole time I was thinking.... mmyyyyyyy biiiiiiiikeeee!. all was ok though - crazy storms!
