We are looking at getting a dog bike trailer for our 40lb dog as she loves to get out but has had 2 acl repairs and two hip surgeries and can't walk too far. Before we buy it would be nice to see if she would tolerate being in something like the Tail Wagon (http://www.burley.com/products/tailwagon.html). If you have something like this you could lend me for a day or two I would appreciate it.
Also, if anyone has experience with any of the different dog trailers(good or bad) please let me know!

I would think a standard Burley would work just as well. Then, if you ever feel like hauling a kid or two around, you can do that as well. I think the kid burley's have a higher capacity as well. 50 lbs. seems kind of light to me.

Some other options:
Bikes at Work trailers - strap a kennel down, and go. definitely a heavier option, but more versatile, and has a 300 lb capacity.

BoB trailers - might be able to fit a kennel in (would have to be a small kennel though). Light weight, one wheel, suspension option. I believe it has a 70 lb capacity.

If your only goal is to carry your dog around, probably stick with the burley tail wagon or kid carrier. If you want other options/more capacity, then look into some other options.
