We are activity looking for volunteers to help get the race course ready for the 2007 event. As Welch Village does not allow riding except for this event the trails are always in need of major work.

If you’d like to help please drop me a line by e-mail or phone to let me know that you’ll be coming down. Unfortunately Welch doesn’t really want us at the ski area on the weekend due to weddings so we have to do most of the work during the weekdays. If you work during the day and want to come down in the evening you’re more than welcome to. We will plan to have a regrouping at 4pm on all the work days by the main chalet.

Tools To Bring – Tree pruners, weed whackers, mowers, rakes, chain saw and shovels. Bring a SUV/truck since we drive off-road throughout the day. We will supply the beverages.

Trail Work days will take place on the following days.

Monday, July 16th, 2007: 10:30am – 7:00pm
Initial cutting and trimming.

Monday, July 23rd, 2007: 10:30am – 7:00pm
Continue grooming the race course and possibly finish rough cutting. Course taping and marking will start in the afternoon session.
Monday, August 6th, 2007: 10:30am – 7:00pm
Continue grooming the race course where needed, clean, cut and clear Metric Auto Parts Drop area. This day is usually consumed by raking the course that is covered by dead weeds and sticks.
Final preparation of the race course, taping and signing where needed. Dirt bikes will again be allowed to ride on this day, however again you must contact me before coming down. Final marking of the race course, taping and signing will be done where necessary.
Saturday, July 28th, 2007: 10:30am – 7:00pm
Saturday, August 4th, 2007: 10:30am – 7:00pm
Monday, August 6th, 2007: 10:30am – 7:00pm
Welch has agreed to allow us to ride dirt bikes on the race course in order to break it in. If you have a dirt bike, you may bring it and ride it on the race course. To enable people to ride dirt bikes on this closed course, we need each rider to work one full day on the course. After the work has been done, let’s twist the gas on this private playground. We have paid Welch a substantial amount of money and time for this MTB event so let’s take advantage of it. You will need to sign a liability waiver to ride your dirt bike.<o>:p></o>:p>
The use of dirt bikes has been done in the past and has proven to be an effective method for quickly breaking in the race course. If it is raining or the course is wet from previous days, dirt bikes will not be allowed on the race course.
Please contact Scott at (651) 295-6544 or email s f i n n e @ i p s i t y . c o m if you’re planning on helping /riding your dirt bike.

Saturday, August 11th, 2007 NO DIRT BIKES ALLOWED

Pre-ride is available to registered riders between 11:00 a.m. and 2 p.m. All riders must
be off the race course by 2:00 p.m. due to an outdoor wedding scheduled for 3:00 p.m. All riders MUST register for the race to pre-ride the course due to insurance reasons.
