Last year at the Muddy River RnR, the sport class went all as one wave. Can we break this up a little so the funnel doesn't get quit jammed :banghead:as usual. There was a lot of crabby ridders on the course. Would it be possible to have more time between waves to allow the slower riders to clear the fun stuff. Thanks Happy:) trails!

Sounds like a reasonable request to me, I second it... even though I'm not in the Sport class.
Yeah, it was a real logjam going into the singletrack. Waves would be good.
I don't understand at all why each age group for each class does not have its own start wave at any event. Since the only people we are racing against are in our age group, we should have a couple minutes so we're not mixed up on the course. We can see who our competitors are at the line. Each age group at 2 minute waves- especially if they are in 10 year age groups (19-29, 30-39, etc.) would not take very long.

How about a lemans style start? Not to worry the Muddy River will have wave starts.

Dude, can I have my own wave? I'm gonna get spanked no matter who's starting in front of, or behind me.

Speaking of start waves, I've been hearing some feedback regarding other races. How about starting the Expert Women with the Comp Men?? This way, the ones who want to be in front can start there and the ones who don't want to be in the way can start where they see fit?? Getting plowed over by Comp Men 5 minutes into the race sucks and really sets a negative tone for the rest of the race.

I think this is a great idea. I second it.

Another area of the forum has been discussing age groups and who should start before who. How about basing each race on the previous race?
Example:
If the top ten riders in the 40 year old group were faster than the top ten riders in the 20 year old group and the 30 year olds were the slowest, the 40 year olds get to go first, followed by the 20 year olds, and then the 30 year olds.
It might be fun to get some competition among the age groups...it happens informally anyway.

I like it but this needs to be brought up to Greg Blasko ( timming). He would have to hand out the paper work at each race from the previous race. I think it could work though.

DEFINITELY!!!!! Those pro ladies can front the comp line while us newbies to the expert category can bring up the rear...I mean ...I'm workin on being fast but it is less than ideal to get 5 minutes in and have to pull over
