We need one or two people (male or female) to race the bike part of the Ramsey Bicycle Fallen Oak Duathalon (http://www.ci.elk-river.mn.us/vertical/Sites/%7B18493844-E9A7-4BC5-BA1B-5149BB77ECC4%7D/uploads/%7B0DA63708-50A1-48A0-92CA-9CEE2FF5DECE%7D.PDF). I've got two possible people that would like to do the run part of the race, but they need someone to do the bike part for them. The bike part will be just under an hour in length, all in one shot. Not many hills, so it will not be an intense sprint race. Pretty much all wooded singletrack. Check the main thread (http://www.morcmtb.org/forums/showthread.php?t=21166).

The first is a women that finished 23rd overall in the women's class at the Grandma's Marathon. She would like to have a teammate that will put in a good time, probably a Comp or Expert MNSCS-type racer. The right person would have a good shot at the win on this team.

The other is a decent runner, male, and runs under a 7 minute mile for distance running. He's not concerned about winning the race, just wants to get out there and have a good time. He may have a teammate, but is not sure because of their injury healing in time for the event.

If anyone is interested, post up here, and then shoot me a pm. I will use this thread as the master 'biker' list. First post gets first option. There is a possibility that we will have several more runners looking for bike partners. We are currently contacting running groups to let them know we may have bikers for them to team up with. If you have questions, let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Rich

We might be able to use a few riders to do a sweep, too. We'll have Patrollers out there, but maybe not enough to sweep everything due to the separate courses. Post up if you want to help out with that or any other race-related tasks that day. We should have enough people, but volunteers are always welcome. Great way to be a part of the event without all the suffering!

Okay, I've matched up the first three available runners with some MORC bikers. If anyone else wants to do only the bike part, post up and I'll keep looking for more runners.

So far, Clayton, Jeff, and Eddie are all in. Thanks guys.

Rich,

Can i have two runners split the running portion (two of my kids would each run one of the sections)?

Is this to have an advantage, or are your kids younger and you're just trying to include them both. If it's just for fun, I can make it happen for ya.

It ain't for advantage! Neither of them has ever done any trail running nor do they own a pair of running shoes between them. they are both good athletes, but trust me our goal would be to simply finish... i hope i can talk them into it!

Thanks.

I sent in my registration about a month ago. Was I suppose to receive an e-mail confirmation? My check was cashed, but no e-mail confirmation concerns me.
