As much as I truly enjoy the course at Mont du Lac, this weekends race was not good for me at all. I'm going to blame my poor performance on the heat (instead of the my lack of time on the bike). As usual the trail and COGGS group was awesome. The trail was mainly the same as the past couple seasons, with the last long downhill section rerouted this year - nicely done. The rest of the trail was awesome and all the water volunteers were great! For me it was a great stopping point almost every lap. Whenever someone asked if I wanted water and I said no, they seemed very sad - sorry.
I apprecite the effort COGGS puts into the trails up north and enjoy coming back home to ride the local trails. Plus, although I didn't catch much this year, I saw the trials competition was back - very cool. Wish we had more of that at other venues.
Thanks again everyone involved with delivering a spanking...(will that ever get old??)
I'll second the thanks. Nice work Coggs!
It was my first time racing at the Mont Du Lac venue. I've wanted to hit it for years, but it just never seemed to work out. Glad I finally made it up for it. The climbing in the sun was brutal but the singletrack was a sweet reward.
A big thanks to the water crew. That was very refreshing and much appreciated!
Awesome job COGGS. Loved it, loved it, loved it!! That was also my first time at Mont Du Lac and will definitely be back. That course had everything a mountain bike race should have, crazy climbs, FAST, rough singletrack with spots for passing...it was great. Thanks again also to the water crew- in the perfect location- thank you. I had a lot of fun at this race.:banana::banana::banana::jumpy::jumpy :

I'll fourth the quality of the event. I flatted at the top of the climb on the first lap of the sport race and was dead last by the time I got going again. I had a lot of passing to do and the passing zones even in the singletrack were great. Thanks to all who made the event happen!

"Passing zones even in the singletrack were great" - Salem comes to mind as it really needs passing zones. I know there is a thread addressing it but (light bulb goes on over the head) Salem especially and other courses could use a few. COGGS were COGnative.
