I thought this was cool, and what he wants to do with them. There was also a article in the Star about it.:)

Yeah, saw that in the Strib last week. Kind of unique. It would be interesting to see one.

Just don't leave it out in the rain - it will warp.

go buy one at Gear West, they carry calfee there. This winter my ex and i went there to go take a look at the bike, only to remember that they are custom fitted to you when you purchase one, so they didnt have one. ha. made me feel like a loser.

Actually, not that this matters, but bamboo is fine in a wet environment. It's weak point is fluctuations in environmental conditions, i.e. going from wet to dry and vice versa. So, if you get one of these, do not bring it into your air-conditioned house after riding on a hot and humid day. And, store it in a humidity controlled space in the off-season. Our winters are not conducive to the stability of bamboo!

The spider bike is siiick.
And if ya wanna make $, start growing a bamboo farm! IMO its the grass of the future. It grows 4-6in a day, ridiculously strong, and grows in a large variety of areas. As te Strib said, bamboo is a multifunctional grass that can be made into hundreds of products like clothing, bikes, etc.
