think they call them recumbent which means to lay down on your back.
Do any body have lay down mountain bike for sale!! I want to ride the mountain trails but dont want to bend me back. I think a spring on the front wheel would make it better to. I want a good one that will take some big jumps and fast downhills with rocks and not break.
Copied from craigslist.

What do you mean? Me and my riding buddies ALWAYS hit Leb on our recumbants. Once in a while we'll hit Spirit mountain...but I have to put the 'ol spring on the front wheel to make it better.
good find!:p

We saw a guy go through the X on a recumbent one day.
Hey, If they can have freestyle walking how come nobody is making a freeride recumbent?:eyeroll:
Think of how handy it would be in the rock gardens, no more worrying about pedal clearance. Plus, I wouldn't have to "bend me back". Arrgh Mateys!!
You laugh but when you see a pirate on a recumbant with 8 inches front and rear on XX Loop, you'll say Oh, looks like he found what he was looking for.

Awesome Post. Anytime you can work a pirate into a thread it is a beautiful thing.

The listing is funny but everyday people are pushing limits. Now we have mountain boarding, cold water surfing on superior, and masses of people climbing things that were deemed absolutely impossible 30 years ago in places that are completely unfit for human existence and many who tried died trying.
Just look at sand boarding and mountain boarding. Both came from the street water and snow. Now people are doing both on the flats of ND with parachute and snowboards and over the water on boogie boards. You never know where anything is going anymore and thank god for all those damn fools paving the way. Maybe in five years people will be para-biking at Jackson Hole and free riding down Corbets Couloir on a single speed fixie and landing in the parking lot next to their car and probably someone's already doing it right now or some fool is walking up the Tetons with his bike on his shoulder and a back pack full of parachute hiding in the tree line on the way up so he doesn't get booted off the mountain before he can bust out his front teeth and pave the way for future free riders.

No, its a good thing and I'd be one to try it. I'm one of the fools that wants to climb Black Ice Couloir in the next two years just a few miles from Corbets.
