There will be a trailwork session at Murphy-Hanrehan this SUNDAY morning at 8am. We will meet at the main trailhead (where you would park if you were riding the trail). We want an early start to avoid the heat. People who can't make it by 8 am are also welcome to join. The work area is close to the trailhead, so it is easy to get to. One of the dirt bosses can go back to the trailhead and pick up later workers at 9 am and 10 am, so if you can't make it by 8 am, we'd love to have you later!

We will be adding a rock garden/armored climb to the advanced loop. There are a couple hundred yards of trail between 61 and 62 that will become a mini optional loop that will start with this rock climb. It will be somewhat similar to the rock climb at Theo, but longer.

If you don't want to ride it, you can skip the mini loop and keep the flow going (that's not to say a good rider won't be able to flow through the optional loop).

This will be one of the tougher features on the trail. If you are one of the riders that would like to see some more difficult features at Murphy, here is your chance... how hard it is will be influenced by who shows up.

We'll supply tools, but if you have a favorite tool bring it along. Please bring gloves, good shoes or boots, bug spray and water.

If you have a wheelbarrow, a two-wheeled dolly, or similar equipment that can haul rocks, please bring it (we have a rock cart, but could use one or two wheelbarrows/two-wheelers).

If you are under 18 yrs old, bring a parent or guardian along.

Post here, or send me a PM if you plan on attending.

Thanks - we hope to see you there!!

Gone fishing, but old farts like me appreciate the new time :-)
I should be able to make the next one.

Again wear Long Pants! There's enough itchy and scratchy stuff to get you.

Great John and Spencer! I think we can give Troy a pass on this one! Any guy who stays up till 4 am and makes it to a 10 am trail work on a hot day is a die hard trail worker!

Sorry, I'm on bandaid brigade Sunday.

If you people would ever just work around my personal scheduling needs, I'd quite enjoy working at Murphy :D

See you out there.

If you're not able to get there right at 8, we'll be just down the gravel road on the right side, a hundred yards or so past the first left hand turn in the road. We'll be visible from the road. If you get to either of the residential houses, you've gone too far.

I would really like to thank Spencer F. and Roger S.for joing Scott and I out there today for trailwork! We were able to add a few more rocks to our new rock garden section in the advanced loop! It's a work in progress so be patient!

Members like Roger S. and Spencer F. deserve a lot of credit for giving up 5 hours of their time on a Sunday morning to come out and help improve our great trails! Give them a well deserved thank you the next time you see them. Without volunteers like them, we would have none of the trails we now have! Thanks a lot!
