Now is a good time to put in a plug for someone to upload some photos and put together a trail review as well.... ;)

I hear it's a jungle already. Rideable, but a jungle.

Yes, it's going to be a jungle. We/I have had 0 time to get out and get some work done. It's also not very well marked but there are some good signs coming.

The Trail is overgrown, but I did ride the whole trail and cleared almost all the many down trees last thursday. The second half of the loop, there are about 4 down trees left to clear. I was clearing on my bike, with a long handsaw, and thus these last few trees were bigger variety, and also oak, and it was hot, and I was really bonking after a long shift of clearing. So, the trail is almost clear of down trees. I would say the best time to check this trail out would be late summer, early fall. We should have it ready to go, like last year, by early fall. Last Fall was a lot of fun at Monti. And, I forgot to bring signs with me on Thursday, so yes, there are unmarked intersections. But, like Ryan Panning mentioned, he has some really cool signs ready to be installed.

I am going to be in the area this weekend and am looking for a good ride, should I be giving this trail a shot or is there something else close to Monticello/Big Lake that I am better off riding? Also, where exactly is this located? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you haven't ridden it before, I'd recommend waiting till it's signed better or you ride with someone in the know. It will also be a jungle. You could ride Hillside in Elk River instead.
