There will be a trailwork session at Murphy-Hanrehan this SATURDAY morning at 10am. We will meet at the main trailhead (where you would park if you were riding the trail).

We plan to be out there until later in the afternoon... MORC will be buying pizza and pop for lunch!!

We will be adding a rock garden/armored climb to the advanced loop. There are a couple hundred yards of trail between 61 and 62 that will become a mini optional loop that will start with this rock climb. It will be somewhat similar to the rock climb at Theo, but longer.

If you don't want to ride it, you can skip the mini loop and keep the flow going (that's not to say a good rider won't be able to flow through the optional loop).

This will be one of the tougher features on the trail. If you are one of the riders that would like to see some more difficult features at Murphy, here is your chance... how hard it is will be influenced by who shows up.

We'll supply tools, but if you have a favorite tool bring it along. Please bring gloves, good shoes or boots, bug spray and water.

If you have a wheelbarrow, a two-wheeled dolly, or similar equipment that can haul rocks, please bring it (we have a rock cart, but could use one or two wheelbarrows/two-wheelers).

If you are under 18 yrs old, bring a parent or guardian along.

Post here, or send me a PM if you plan on attending.

Thanks - we hope to see you there!!

If you can't make it until later... just walk down the gravel road (leave the parking lot like you're going to hike the new trail, but take a left and walk down the gravel road).

You'll see us in the woods on the right a short distance past the gate/horse trail.

And don't worry if you can't stay the entire time... we can use all the help we can get!

Damn, can't make it! I have a wedding at 3 pm. I love armoring projects and the pizza and soda sounds good also. I feel bad missing out on this project!

I probably don't need the pizza and soda anyway! You guys have a good time!

Bump.

I looked at the project site again today... should be cool. And tough.

There have been quite a few posts asking for more technical trail sections - here's your chance to help build one (and help decide how hard it is).

Hope to see you there on Saturday.

I'm in,

I don't have much opportunity for trail work during the week, anyone planning on riding afterwards?

Cool! Thanks for posting Matthew.

If we finish early, I might be up for a lap. If trailwork goes longer I'll probably be too tired.

We'll (Ricohh/ Fallout Girlz factions of LCR) be out there checking out your trail for the first time. Will give you a hand pushing rock (strong back/ weak mind) if needed...

Nothing like pushing rock and moving dirt in spandex, that is Ricoh...

To my sisters that lurk about... 9AM.

I'll be there, but not sure if I have to leave by 1 pm or if I can stay later.

We'll be out there rain or shine. It looks like if we get rain tomorrow, it'll be scattered.

Hope to see you Saturday!!

The rock climb is about 20% complete, maybe less. But the bypass trail and "qualifier" are complete. Only four of us today.

Since it was a small group, we skipped pizza and went to Chipotle instead (burritos and air conditioning... mmmmmm...ahhhhhhh...). I hope we didn't miss anyone while we were at lunch.

There is very little added technical difficulty to this section (between 61 and 62), but hopefully we'll be able to finish it soon.
