I think this is the perfect course for the Comp/Expert race. I love the climbs and there is a good mix of technical sections, with enough areas to pass. IMO possibly the best race course for good technical riders.

Now now, it's still early in the season old man. Maplelag tech skills are far off. I hope we are all rested enough. It is gonna be a long haul. I noticed Buck was empty....hmmm, are we all ready? Cheers to a good race.

At least two of the LCR sisters were in attendance. One of them was bled hard...

We are looking at mid-high 80's and very low dew point during the comp/expert race - a lot different than the first two MNSCS races.
I can feel the moisture being sucked out of me already.

I didn't need to be patched up, but thanks for giving me a hand spotting my water bottle in the weeds...

You know you don't have your game when your stopping to find a bottle you lost on a previous lap... Nothing like losing a point on the trails you build and maintain...

Hope all (or at least most) enjoyed the suffering of Afton...

My first time ever entering a race.
And even worst yet, my first time ever at Afton, I had no idea what was going on my first lap... or second.

I do have a pinhead size hole in my left leg that goes deeper than I can see along my shin-bone. It is still bleeding, I've tried to patch it up with a butterfly. Besides a small scratch next to it, I don't have a mark anywhere else on me... what the heck did I hit?

Overall a fun race, wish I could do it again and fix the spots I totally screwed up. Thanks to everyone here who creates a great community for racing! Any other races coming up soon besides the MNSCS races?
