Trail Conditions In Detail - Hawthorne Hills

Hey All.

I was wondering if anyone has ridden Hawthorne lately? If so, what kind of shape is the trail in?

I've heard we only have the trails for another year due to development. Any truth to this?

Hey, I was at Hawthorne this afternoon (Sunday). Pretty nice conditions. A little tacky in the low lying areas. I did a couple laps around the orange loop. I didn't get a chance to get over to the blue loop. The orange loop was a bit over grown in spots. It could use a little bit of weed whackin'. Also there were some small branches over head that could be taken out with a hand saw. However, at one point on the trail we need a chain saw. There is a big tree down that is niether rideable under or over. Gotta get off the bike at that point. Now yesterday (Saturday) I was at Eastwood. I want to thank the guys that fixed up the trail a bit. On the Corkscrew some of the turns were build up and a couple little interesting log piles were added. Sorry, got a little long winded. But hey, awesome weekend when you can get out and ride both days! Tommy
