So, I’ve got a pair of the performance boulder shorts, and I’m pretty happy with them, but would like to add another pair of baggy shorts to my closet so I’m not stuck with stinky shorts, or pressed to get’em thru the wash with the quickness. With June upon us, I’m fairly certain the weather will soon cooperate and we may actually get to ride trails maybe two, even three days in a row! So I’m thinking maybe 50-65 bucks, and would like to give maybe some non generic brand (performance, nashbar, sette) a try. XC kind of stuff, not crazy DH or anything. Thanks for the thoughts!

I've gotten 2 different pairs of Borah shorts at Erik's.

One of them in particular I really like, the material is a little more slippery (maybe not the right way to describe it) so it doesn't get all bunched up when you're sweaty.

Sorry I don't have a model name or anything.

I have to pair of old navy cargo shorts I got on closeout for 9.99. I spend so little time in the saddle that the padding isn't worth the money for me.

RE the Fox mid-ranger. I agree they are comfy but I also find them to be a little on the warm side. Not my 1st choice for a hot weather ride. Also the waist seems to run a little on the small side. So try before you buy

I bought these about a month ago and absolutely love them:

More XC than DH for sure.

Wow looks like Hoss is some good stuff by MTB reviews. Thanks guys, I wouldn't even have known were to start!

Yes, I'm quite fond of them. Really liked the first pair so immediately bought 2 more! As cycling clothes go, they're also relatively inexpensive. The belt/waistband is really slick. Only downside is they are a little heavy, but they hold up well to crashes, which for me is more important :crazy2:

Edit: Check the sizing page on the Hoss website - it's been awhile but as I recall the sizing is a bit funky compared to normal (the chart is accurate, just a bit different perhaps than what you'd expect - i.e., don't do this: I always get mediums in everything so I'll just buy a medium Hoss)

I picked up a pair of the new Swobo baggies from One On One a few weeks back. These are hands-down the most comfy shorts I have ever worn.

Even better, the chamois attaches to the baggies with snaps, so you can take it out and wear it under other shorts.

I own baggies by Nema, Pearl, Fox and Zoic. And the Swobos are easily my all-time faves.

Hoss are the way to go. Check the Price Point site for a good deal.

Enduras. If the shorts are as good as the knickers, they're the way to go. And REI has some decent baggies out there, too. I, unfortunately, out grew mine.

I put my price point list together for the wife, hoss shorts, shirt, and a new seat post clamp. I love fathers day gifts or any gift that is completly of no surprise.

Is there a model name on these? I still got birthday money burning holes in my pockets.

Baggy Shorts?

Do you enjoy getting hung-up behind your saddle?

try some regular cycling shorts, you think its overkill, but you get more bang for your buck and they are absolutely sweet.

Only baggy shorts on the market with a decent, durable chamois is Pearl Izumi's "Veer". Any other baggy shorts last a year tops before the chamois is worn out and useless. http://www.pearlizumi.com/product.php?mode=view&product_id=191020&type_id=1&sport_id=2&category_id=2&color_code=021

Are you kidding or do you use the same shorts for every ride? I have a pair of Fox shorts from 4 years ago and the chamois isn't even close to being worn out. Then again...I have other shorts that I can wear and don't use the same pair for every ride.:etard:

I've got a 10yo pair of Zoics and a 6yo pair of Fox Midrangers that will lay that statement to rest.
