Hey everyone. I am new to the board and fairly new to the area, but I was wondering if anyone had information on the Mazomani trail out at the swamp. Is this trail actually closed to bikes or is someone trying to pull one over on bikers? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that part really is closed to bikes. You can ride at the right-most trail leaving the parking lot, and veer right when you come to a "Y" after a quarter mile or so.
That said, my guess is the swamp is just that, a swamp, right now. I rode there several times last summer but never figured out how to close the loop and get back to the parking lot, so always ended up backtracking. Hit several dead ends or lost the trail as I recall. It is not exactly maintained, and it is definitely not singletrack, but it is off-road :)
When it is dry, it is kind of a nice simple change of pace ride. Very isolated.
Look for a thread in the LS section of TC trails. I think we talked about this a couple of years ago or last year.

I don't live too far from their either. Maybe we can all get together there one day and try to figure it out. I tried to ride it a couple of years ago, but backtracked since I didn't know where I was. It was a bit scarry :jumpy:
The state trail runs right by there also, but you never seem to know when its giong to be cut or not. Nice for getting a sunday ride in though.
