I just bought some components for a buck each, including a carbon handlebar. does anyone have any advice for carbon bars? how they hold up in wrecks, how much difference do they really make, can I put on bar ends, etc... any help would be greatly appreciated.

What bar did you get? Some fair better than others in crashes. I'm running a Easton 99g on one bike and have had many a crash on them and nothing has happened. On another I have a Answer Protaper and have had no problems. Depends on the crash I guess. Just don't over tighten anything on them. As for bar ends, depends on the bar for the most part. I myself don't use em on mine.

I use the same Easton EC90 bar on both of my bikes. So far so good, it really helps reduce the trail chatter. I do not use bar ends and would not recommend it, but like Nigel stated it depends on the bar. Enjoy!

use a torque wrench when tightening the stem to the bar and use the spec from the manufactures website for proper torque.
