Mountain Bike trails will be open at Steeplechase beginning Saturday May 5th and run through October 30. The hours will be - 9:00 AM until dusk from Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM until dusk. Two new features will be added this year - a Porta-Potty and a Pepsi machine. This, plus great trails - what more could you ask for!

No kidding we should try to work something out with this guy. The least he could do is let us hike up and ride our trail (whosever trail it is). Me alex and tony went down there last year and he said it was closed I told him I didn't know that. And that I was one who helped put the trail in. So I think he felt bad and we ended getting to ride it. Is there any way to get around it?? Maybe if he's not charging us or if we become part of a bike club with some insurance that would cover us?? That trail is alot of fun and it would be a shame if we never got to ride it again. :cryin:

I like the season pass idea. Not to save money, but so I don't have to remember to bring 5 bucks and fill out the liability form each time I go out.

Yes it will still be 5 bucks per rider. There are waivers and a pay box set up at the ticket booth in front of the chalet. Remember that if you do trail work you ride for free! We asked him about season passes, but there are none in the works for this summer. He is hoping to work out a system for next summer.

Are there any new trails this year?
Yes, after we closed in the fall last year we added an additional 1k of singletrack that we will still need to polish this spring. We have plans to continue adding additional singletrack throughout the summer, but how much we get done will depend on how many people show up to help on trail work days. The original plan was to eventually have 12-14 miles worth of singletrack.
