Yea! I saw my home territory on a map, do you know much about the trails? are there any mtb poaching opportunities in that area?

Bump... I'm definitely going this year. May 17th & 18th.

I've heard rave reviews that this is one of the best motorized dirt bike riding experiences in MN.

Dan. You Going?

Make sure you budget for these costs. You can get them there at the signup table. Also need a sound-legal DNR-stickered bike with a spark arrestor. The latter items are required for riding on all public land in MN.

The trails are indeed about the best in the state and people come from Illinois and Canada for this ride.

Been there, done that. Awesome time. I'll have to see if I can make it out there on that weekend.

Myself and a friend are considering it as well. I wish I knew if our bikes would pass sound inspection first.

I have an '06 Honda CRF450R. It has a freshly packed stock muffler with a PMB spark arrestor/"silent" core on it. My friend has same but with a newer model PMB (Pro Moto Billet)

if you have a spark arrestor on your bike I would not worry about it youll pass. But if you want me to test it let me know im in maple grove.

Hope everyone can make it. I'll be there Thursday-Sunday. Make sure to look me up when you get there, I take you for a loop of your choice. Don't worry about the bridge, we'll have something figured out for getting people to the Main campgrounds for the 30+ mile loops. There is about 10-15 miles on the West campgrounds to ride with the three loops by the river.

As long as you have a sparky and a freshly packed muffler you should be good. We have ways to make the 450 quieter that you can take off after the ride.:beerme: Feel free to ask me any ?'s

Everybody with a bike should make this and plan on spending the night on Saturday to join in on the after dark actives. This ride only happens twice a year on these trails, and its a blast.

Grrrrrrrr. A friend (also in the club) told me about this. I just bought a DS bike, and my son has an RM85. Downsides: the bike I bought is in AZ, and I'm teaching MSF that weekend.
Ah well, next time perhaps.

I "might" be able to make it for Sunday, still working on the kitchen pass...

Who else is planning on going and what day(s)?

Like usual, I had an awesome time on trails that may be the best in the state. Tried to ride everything on both sides and hit some parts two or three times. I was hurting last night but am feeling good today.

There are other AMA trail rides this year, plus some riding areas are open all season for free. Check out www.armca.org and www.tctrailriders.org

:)Rode it on Saturday, and the trails were the best I've ever seen them. No mud and no dust on the bottoms, and the deep sand on the hills was moist enough that even a squid like me had no problems. Excellent job of course preparation!

Thanks Don, the club did a ton of cleanup after the flood on the bottoms. Did you get to ride both sides? Dave G. told me that you were looking for me at sound check, sorry I didn't get to meet you. Next time for sure.

I rode for the 1st time on Sunday... What a BLAST!

I haven't ridden Aikley yet, but these trails must be one of the jewels of Minnesota. Excellent Singletrack. River bottoms, Hills, Rock Gardens, Sand Pits , Whoops and even a few small Log Crossings.

I rode my grocery getter, it did just fine, but, I might have to get a "real" dirt bike for the next one!

Us MORC folks should get together in the fall, See ya on the Pedaling Trails.
