Just to let you know that the trails in the Chippewa and Superior National Forests are not open yet. They had snow later than we did (11 inches, 2 weeks ago in Brainerd, for instance) and some of the lakes still have ice on them. I would expect you can start riding at the Chippewa's Simpson Creek and Trout Lake around May 4th, and Isabella a week or so after that. I will check with the USFS and the DNR around May 1st, and will post what they tell me here and on the "Trail Conditions" page.
