Does any one have a WeeRide (http://www.kentbicycles.com/bikeacc_wee_carrier.html)? I have been thinking about purchasing one. What do you think of them?

Thanks,
-Spencer

I had something like that the ex-wife picked up at a garage sale. I never used it though, it just didn't seem right to me. My son was/is kind of a spaz, though.

Saw something similar at the MPLS Bike Expo. What happens if you go (OTB) over the bars????

They are very commonplace in the Netherlands. Heck you'll see one kid on the top tube, one in a rear rack, and then one in a trailer. Talk about biking as a family!

As for going over the bars how often do you think you would crash if you knew you had a child on the bike and were riding well within your means?

Scott... remember who posted that up. :D

I go over the bars constantly regardless of whether I'm goofing off or not.
Yeah you would automatically stay within your means, but there is always that one curb you think you can just pop the tire over. Then Spat!

Hey All – my WeeRide showed up on Friday and I have gotten three rides in so far with my daughter…she loves it. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to take a youngster out riding. I could not believe how many people were checking it out yesterday when I was riding around the lakes. If anyone would like to check it out or try it out let me know.

That seems like THE most dangerous thing you could do for your kids. It's only SLIGHTLY worse than the kid seats behind the parents. If you like your kids, I say up for a burly trailer. You can crash, but your kids are far more safe and comfortable.

I have a trailer too... BUT back to your safety issue maybe I should not let her ride a bike or maybe I should just locker in her room. Get real dude!!!

It seems to me like it would be hard to pop a wheelie with a kid up there...but maybe you shouldn't be doing that anyways. Other than that, I think it would work just fine. Sure, not as cool as a Burly trailer, but lugging a trailer around (& locking it up) can be a hassle at times.
