I wasn't sure where this fit in the discussion boards, but I will post it here.
I am looking for a Canoe to do some light Minnesota/Mississipi exploring with. I do not want to spend a lot of money. Ideally, it would be nice if someone was looking to free up some garage space by getting rid of an old canoe they didn't use, or one for around $100. I am on a budget, but really want to get out on the river this year. I drive over the Cedar bridge everyday and notice how calm and beautiful the river is, and I always wish I was on it instead of driving to my cubicle. So if you have a canoe, or know of someone that wants to get rid of their canoe, please let me know!
I appreciate it!

I moved it to Other Outdoor Sports, which is a good place for it since it's not bike related.

not sure if this helps you... but I know that midwest mountaineering is having their annual spring expo at the end of april. They auction off kayaks/canoes and the like. I plan on going this year to get a kayak maybe but I do not know what they auction or how much it typically goes for.

If you want to canoe on the MN river, I suggest going way upstream. Under the Cedar bridge, the current is fairly fast. Plus there is a lot of powerboat and barge traffic, which makes it not as nice.
I'm not sure if you'll find much in the $100 range. Check the classifieds in the Star Tribune. Cheap (maybe $300) canoes come up now and then.

Yeah I check craigslist everyday. That first $100 one I have e-mailed the guy twice and received no response. $385 is just too high for me. I am looking for someone who maybe has a canoe in the back of their garage, or attic, or on the side of their cabin, and wants to get rid of it but doesn't want to put an ad out. I'm just saying if you hear about it in passing conversation from someone you know, I'd appreciate to hear about it.
Thank you all!
I may have something you would be interested in. I'm heading down to New Mexico
for a week or so today. I'll see if you are still interested when I get back. This canoe
is best solo, but I have set it up for tandem use when needed. Let me know if you
are interested.

Jeff,
Very interested! If you can, snap some pics for me and more details if possible!
Thanks,

Another place you can check is the Gear Swap at Rapids Riders. We're mostly kayakers, but occasionally, we let canoes in our sandbox. :D
