WTP (want to pay): I am hoping to pay someone some cash to help me finish my build up project. Things that need to be done;

- remove BB from old frame
- remove front derailuer & chain from old frame

- install BB/crank arms onto new frame
- install & adjust front & rear derailuer
- install cables for front & rear derailuer
- install & adjust chain

I called my LBS and they want a little more $ than I am willing to spend trying to finish this. Hopefully someone has the skills and the knowledge to help me out locally. I am hoping to pay someone $20 to finish this for me, please let me know if you are willing to help. I can't imagine this to be too difficult, I've just never done it nor have the tools/knowledge.

Check with Sunrise Cyclery in Minneapolis. They did a BB switch for about $15. It only took about two days to get the bike back.

the hardest part about removing the bb is buying the 15$ tool that should lasty you for ever

I bought the tool and it was more like $18, I tried my damndest and couldn't get it off. (non-drive=CC to remove, driveside=C to remove)... I just couldn't get it for the life of me, too frustrated now to continue just want to find a tech that wants to make some money on the side.

I would be happy to give you a hand but I am down in Chaska. It would be easier for you if someone in your neck of the woods could help you out. If no one comes through, let me know. Good luck.

It's amazing how well offering :beer_yum::beer_yum::beer_yum::beer_yum::beer_yum: :beer_yum: for stuff like this works. Try that approach, you might get more takers....:)

Well I can't change the deal now, however if applicable I will use the $20 to pickup whatever that person would like on the way to their place (as long as their of legal age ;))

also, PM's replied.

Josh,

All my stuff is packed up now(moving to diff house) but if you're still in a jam in two weeks or so (after the move), I could help you out as well. I'll be in the White Bear area at that point.

Im a little late on the gun here but it looks like you live in BC I would be willing to help if you need it otherwise TrailHead Cycle in champlin on 169 is a great LBS talk to Larry or Stu. Larry owns it and used to work at maple grove schwinn and stu has just plain been in the game for a long time. They just last weekend did a BB swith for $ 5.00 for me WHILE I WAITED  Its worth checking out even if its for future help / purchases.
Later gus

Troy works cheap (he likes Moosehead  ). But he does great work. Really great work. Now if we could just get him to drink a real beer.

I thought he drank whisky?

He might. He did a fork overhaul for me for a 12 of Moosehead. I think I won that one. And I offered him whatever he wanted. Must have been trying to be a good boy.

Not to hijack the thread but Fat Tire is the only way to go

Thanks for the good vibes Tom. Any time you want those forks worked on, just call. And Crash, I do drink whiskey most of the time. But if I'm going to drink beer, it better be Moosehead for this guy. Too much time playing up north of the border will do that to a guy you know. Beer option's north of the border were slim to none when I spent time up their.;)
