Hey kurt why hasn't anyone tried to contact me.
because i've been talking to the city regarding the trails out there...
first of all, building more trails this spring is probably not the best thing to do. at least w/o getting approval from the city.
and to do that, you guys who are building these need to get organized or associated w/ a club [so you have insurance/etc] and put together some sort of plan if you want to keep these trails. the city is rebuilding the hiking trails in that area and the sht runs thru there. the general consensus is these 2 uses won't play well together.

Any chance we could hook a group up with morc? Or do you know of any local groups?

you could join up w/ coggs or you could start a morc chapter.
i have 1 more city person to talk to about your trails.

Sounds good to me, I'm still part of coggs, but i really doubt it would fly. I could talk to the guys and find out, and maybe if Jeff and I orginize and play with it some it might happen, might.
I know there has been some talk of an alternative (to road and MTB) bike club maybe this is a reason to get it all started. I was thinking about one for trials but why not join all the bastard diciplines of biking.
Rudy and Andy!
You guys need to talk with Brad, we were talking about his like a week ago!

if you're gonna get organized, better hurry. i've been told you need to have a plan submitted by may.
i've talked to several people in charge w/ the city and the responses have been--
1)do not build anymore trail/jumps/etc out there. doing so will not get you any love and future plans will be ****canned.
2)come up w/ a plan, submit it thru the proper channels. your plans need to include the maintainence of existing/new trails, building of new trails, rehabbing of old/unsafe/eyesore trails. no city $$ can/will be used for any of this. trails must be built to imba guidelines.
3)the city is concerned about liability w/ jumps/stunts/hucks/etc. the city will have final say on how big you can go.
4) the city is rebuilding the hiking trails that your trails cross. they are concerned about hiker/biker interaction.
as you can see, the city isn't happy you built bandit trails. i have been told if no plans are made for these existing trails, they will be removed.
i'll help in anyway possible but you need to get organized.

I'm entering this conversation really late because I hardly ever check this site, but anway, I'll help out if there's something I can do. I've done some work on those trails, but they've got a long way to go before they'd be really quality.

I just got a new ACL, so I can't ride for a while, but I'd be glad to help out working on some trails when I'm not as busy in a week or two.
