I told someone on here that I would post up some Maah Daah Hey video when I got some edited up.

Here is a little taste of the trail.... and some Tom Waits to boot...

Enjoy... comment... whatever...

That trail.... gotta go.

Helmet cam was a plus.

Rock-chucker was a minus.

Over-geared Dude-Bros off-trail huckin' over an eroded bank onto delicate desert-prairie vegetation was a minus.

Selfsame over-geared Dude-Bros hittin' speeds their abilities can't maintain and riding over trailside sage and expanding what looks like classic single-track was a minus.

Uber-truck fording an obviously swollen stream and further eroding the crossing was a minus. Had it stalled, would have been a plus.

A bit crass I know, and in truth I've done all those things over time, but I sure as hell didn't post a video showing me doing it on a trail that connects three Nationa Parks. Sheesh, a little self-censorship will go a long way in making that trail available for others in the future. At least you didn't post it at equestrians_and_hikers_against_mountain_bikers.com (http://www.equestrians_and_hikers_against_mountain_bikers .com).

Got to get out there and ride it before I'm too old. (WHAT am I saying!?!?!)

Let's leave the rocks and things where you found them, and Tread Lightly (http://www.treadlightly.org/)!

Ride safe,

Damn cool! Makes me want to do it even more! I've only ridden some of the trail outside of Medora and would like to see it all!

What Crisco Jackass said, but only with more emphasis. There is nowhere on the Maah Daah Hey where body armor and full-face helmets are necessary, and "hucking" (and I use the term lightly) where there is obviously no trail is retarded. I was part of the original Dakota Cyclery team back in 1994 when the whole Maah Daah Hey project started to take off, so I have a bit of personal experience regarding the place. Loren & Jennifer Morlock of Dakota Cyclery have spent countless hours promoting, building, and being stewards of this treasured trail. You and your Mt. Dew bro-brahs might do well to learn a bit about the history of the trail, as well as some IMBA principles. That said, the Maah Daah Hey is a true gem, and I encourage everyone to get out there and ride it, at least once. But respect the trail, and respect the people (Morlocks/Dakota Cyclery) that have been an integral part of its existence.

Exactly what I was thinking.

The Maah Daah Hey isn't a freeride spot.....it's an epic ride spot with a sensitive environment. There are plenty of places to go huck, please don't do it there. Read the trail guides at places and please obey them or we will not have places like the Maah Daah Hey, Fruita, Moab, and others to ride anymore.

Yeah, and what Hurl said, respect those who helped give you a trail to ride in the first place.

The helmet cam of the downhill away from Devil's Pass was way cool.

But, yeah, chucking rocks around and going off-trail on delicate prairie grass is a huge no-no. That's the kind of thing you can get fined for.

A less minor no-no: don't run such a high gear. You're working too hard to go too slow ;).
