The latest member of my family arrived today. BMC Fourstroke 02 w/07 XTR, Chris King/Mavic wheels, somewhat ugly white Fox fork. I'm excited to get this thing out to Fruita!
Dad is doing fine.. mother may not be doing so fine if she ever sees the bill.

I wonder how many minutes it will look like this before it gets nice and dirty and scratched up by colorado rocks... (I can't wait hehe...)

You're going to like the way that new XTR group operates. I have only ridden mine 2 miles (one mile for each run in the skyway race) and I already love it. The "multiple upshifts" with the right shifter is a really nice upgrade. Have fun with your new baby!

Oh, I don't know... I think the white fork looks cool. Even though it's not a LEFTY:)
Those Fizik saddles will make you sterile.

actually that one fizik saddle is super comfortible. One of the better ones they make. And pretty, too. (which is obviously the most important part.)

Nice looking bike. What kind of tires is it sporting?
Looks pretty sweet John. I'm sure you're just jonesin to throw a leg over it and put in some dirt time.
I'll have to check out the xtr shifters. From what I've seen, I like.

Nice bike John, Doesnt QBP carry those now?Where is the frame made?

Kenda Small Block 8s... the perfect Leb tire.

Yup, its BMC which is distributed by QBP. BMC is Swiss made. They are more known for their road frames but are coming along with the mtb frames. You don't see em' much in the mags but I think that will change.
I might have gone with another Blur frame, but I didn't like how they separated the "Classic" into lighter and heavier weight models.
Looks like you got the tires just in time.
To bad about the seatpost arriving bent like that. ;)
Now when exactly is Leb opening? Better question how long will you be able to hold out?
If we see early tire tracks there bet that they will be of tubeless small blocks.

Yes, thanks to santa for bringing the tires just in time!!
The seatpost... I'm skeptical, but according to a rider profile I did it was suggested to go with one that isn't straight. Apparently it might help my lower back out a little to be a bit more stretched out on the bike. This thing is definitely different than the Blur... gonna take some getting used too and its not going to happen doing mini-laps in my basement.
I kinda wish I'd gone with the Reba fork but oh well.
That thing is very very cool John! Congrats!
I can't wait to see it out on the trail......too bad we packed them down and it will be August before we even see dirt. ;)
I like the fork! Can't go wrong with Fox.

The new XTR kit is unreal. I have around 8 dirt rides on it already, and it was almost too fast at first. The up shift with the thumb moves either way, trigger style or SRAM style, and can do two shifts at a time. Brakes have great modulation and a good lever feel, although no pad contact adjustment, Juicy Seven's still rule this category. The BMC looks nice, should be a fun ride!

Beeeutiful! That is just too sweet, and interesting that they make road bikes, I wonder if they sell just the frame.

Thank God Al Gore invented the internet or where in the h*ll would Anita get her information from??? :D ;)
And by the way buying an Intense road frame would be like buying a Pinnarello mountain bike......I mean yeah it's cool but every kid on the block has one.......

yea - rockin' a 42x12 on the runout at the bottom of chutes and ladders.....that's just plain crazy. I just hope no SS'ers get in his way :D

Looks good John, too bad about that white fork. Oh well...not everybody can have carbon.
I hope you like that saddle, I had one on my prophet and it lasted all of 2 rides before I took it off and gave it to some poor kid that works for Penn.

I tend to stop before the downhill and let the fast people roll, those that can shift, have suspension and ride downhill faster than me (most people in my case). I am going to try the end of chutes and ladders with gears this year it looks like wicked fun with gears and suspension.

I've actually ridden that saddle for about 4 years now... its the only one I feel comfortable on actually. I have another new one in a cabinet just waiting in case they stop making them... :D
Fox ought to be shot for making an off-white fork. I haven't seen a bike yet that it actually looks good on. With some luck they will change it soon and it will show up in the classifieds.

Yup, Liz saw that and I'm out $10 as well. Its a good cause though.

Good point! I'd have traded pink for that horrible "gold white" of the Fox anyday...
I noticed in one of the bike mags that they are advertising the F series fork and they have a pure white model shown in their ad. Trickery I say....
