Well the Peacock Groove I won in September 05 is officially done! Its been a long wait but well worth it!If you're wondering why it took so long I'll give you the reasons.
1.I wasnt a paying customer, I won it!! So I definitely wasnt complaining!
2.Erik puts pride in his work and he takes his time, if it isnt absolutely correct he wont accept it, period!
3.Tying into #2, the dropouts have the cool, detailed Peacock logo on them and it took many tries for him to find someone to waterjet them just perfect, and it took alot of his time and money to finally get someone to do it right, and you'll see that in the pictures.
So if you want a really nice custom bike that nobody else in the world has you need to go with a Peacock Groove, its made in the USA, by a local builder who gives a MORC membership to anybody that buys his bikes, so dont spend your money on a mass produced bike!Go with the Groove!
By the way, in the latest MORC newsletter I didnt notice Peacock Groove even being advertised?Anybody?!
So here it is, modeled after a classic Mopar muscle car....

So:
1. How are you tensioning the chain on the drive side?
2. What is the range of CS length? Pretty interesting cut-in on the ST. Would have expected to see it bent vs. cut.
Cool bike.

judging by the horizontal drop outs and the adjustable caliper mount i would guess that pulling the wheel back will work

You are absolutely correct.
The coolest thing about these dropouts is you can remove the wheel without loosening up your brake caliper.

Really? Thanks.
Let me be more specific for the witty - how are you tensioning the chain on horizontal dropouts with only a QR? Tugg Nut or similar device or there something built-in to the drive side?
For all the effort that went into that frame I would have expected sliders or an EBB.
Cool bike regardless. Like the matched rims.

That drop out can't be for real. Post up a macro pic of that detail work.

Nice bike Mike! Wonderful handi-work. Can't wait to see it flying past me heading up Stairway.
I think Mr. Soupboy is right, you'll probably need a tuggnut or something on the drive side (unless there is a little tensioner built into the dropout that hasn't been shown). Mashing up pretty much any hill could bring about rapid jumping/popping/cussing due to the wheel sliding all the way forward. I'm sure you'll get something figured out quickly though and will be rocking.
P.S. I actually dig the horizontal dropouts, and my next SS will rock them I'm thinking (might not be for another 10 years, but who knows).

Cool bike.I will be using a tug-nut.
The length from center of bottom bracket to center of rear axle is about 42mm, thats where the cutout comes in, because my 26" bike was about 41.4.
No eccentric BB, didnt want one, dont believe in them.

It looks awesome Cozzy! I knew those dropouts were going to be sick when you showed me the pics of the raw version. The paint job is really cool and those wheel are awesome. Phil Wood hubs...damn those look nice. I can't wait to see it in person and ride it.:eyeroll: You might as well put your other bikes in storage for good cause I don't think you will be riding much else this summer. :etard:

Nice bike and I love the curious yellow color, at least I think that is the color. Nice detail and I look forward to seeing it out on the trail.
