Matt K. & MNSCS-

Wondering if the Team Competition format has been finalized? Specifically how teams will be registered. Will teams be registered on an event basis or for the whole series and updated/ ammended as the season progresses?

In other words will teams need to do head counts and submit entry at each event or is there some sort of roster that is maintained and utilized for the whole season?

I know I'd prefer to just have a team roster that is maintained for the whole season and applied/ updated at each event... Simpler for racers, but might be more difficult for you to manage...

Thanks again for adding this into the series. Hopefully it'll bring me and some of my sisters out of hiding more often...

Copy your riddle... Wilco on signing you up for the "extreme novice rec rider" class...

The date is set... April 11th we venture West for boot camp... If I recall correctly it's been 7 years since the FXP3XR has made the rope a dope... You are do for some punishment and some top secret Porcupine Rim singletrack and a Fruita infinite loop...

U copy that? Over?

The racing and scoring format has been finalized as far as I am concerned. I still need to talk with the other directors on how they want sign up for the teams to be handled. My thought was to include a space on the registration forms to indicate your team. This would then be put next to your name in the results which will allow me to place them into a spread sheet and then sort the results using a data filter to get all of the members of one team. I will probably ask for a list of teams and current rosters sometime before the first race, but I will let anyone make changes and subtractions or additions whenever they want so long as it doesn't turn into a circus. Hopefully that will work. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

The team outline or guidelines or whatever you want to call them are all done. I have sent them into the higher powers at the mnscs and they should be posted here or on the MNSCS site sometime this week.

Here is what it should look like:

Team Scoring Outline
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p>

Team Competition in sport, comp, and expert classes. Each class will have a separate team comp. Team racers will not be separated into age groups.
Teams will need to consist of a minimum of 3 racers. The top three racers from each team will count towards those teams’ total score. There is no maximum number of riders per team. If a team has only 3 riders and one drops out or doesn’t show that team is given credit for a last place finish for the missing rider. So teams are encouraged to have at least a couple of extra riders.
A person may only be registered with one team at each race.
Team scores will be separate from the overall standings and will reflect only how members of the team place against members of other teams. Team scores for each race will be calculated based on placing with the low score winning the event. First place in the race gets 1 point, second – 2 points, third – 3 points, etc. For the overall season standings 1st place team at each race gets 150 points, second place team gets 142, etc... End of the season recognition will be based on a teams top 5 events. Any events beyond the top 5 will earn the team 5 bonus points. In the event of a tie at the end of the year, the teams best 6th event will be used.
Team scoring summary for series overall 1st= 150
2<SUP>nd</SUP>= 142
3<SUP>rd</SUP>= 135
4<SUP>th</SUP>= 129
5<SUP>th</SUP>= 124
6<SUP>th</SUP>= 120
7<SUP>th</SUP>= 116
8<SUP>th</SUP>= 112
And so on following the MNSCS overall guidelines on scoring.

<o:p> </o:p>Women’s teams will follow the same criteria but will only need two riders per team.
<o:p> </o:p>Team scores will be posted by the middle of the week on the MNSCS web site.

Yes they would all be scored together based on thier overall placing, not thier placing within their specific category or age group.

And other than being listed as a women's specific team you can have mixed teams?

Matthew

There will be no mixed team scoring at this time unless someone knows of a fair way to do it.

Hey Matt-
First, thanks again for coordinating the MNSCS Team Competition. It certainly adds a positive dynamic to the series...

2 questions-

-What is the process for submitting names/ teams for the various categories?

-Is there a fee associated with team entries?

Thanks again for your efforts!!!

Sorry, this info should be posted by now. I just got married and am working on purchasing my first house so things have been a bit busy. I will try to get the details posted on the mnscs page sometime by the end of this week. Basically the process will be to email me your team name and the names and classes of the people on your team. You'll be able to make changes to your team roster up to the tuesday before each race. There will not be a fee for the team comp and just because a person is registered for the team doesn't mean they have to be at every race or anything. Also people can only be registered for one team at each race.

The Team racing guidlines were posted on the MNSCS web site on March 26. I added the point that there are no additional charges to the team riders today. If there are additional questions, please get back to Matt or myself.

Well so far I have 3 team entries and it looks like LCR and peace coffee will be racing for the overalls. Come on I know there are more teams out there. Where is the velorochester entry, and Penn Cycle, or the loon state guys. If you don't have a team yet post up and find some guys to ride with. If you already have a team then start emailing the rosters to me at mjkurke@hotmail.com. I would like to get them early so I can post some of the rosters up and give people a chance to start the rivalries early.

I'd like to ride with a team. I am female and will be riding in the sport category this year. As of right now we are planning on attending all 10 races.

My daughter is also an excellant rider and will be riding in the citizen category.

If anyone needs another female rider for either team let me know.

I'll be racing Sport, I will most likely be attending 6 or more races. I would be interested in finding a team, if anyone is interested.

Hi Matt,

I'm finalizing our roster at the moment. I'd be glad to have you help us do battle with the big teams. We had some people shuffle categories on the team, but it looks like you could be our 3rd points maker if you're interested.

I'll be sending our roster in at the deadline.

last chance to register your team for the first race of the season will be tomorrow. I know it says the 7th on the web site but there are still some teams not registered and I thought I would give them one more chance to to send in a roster.

Let's say I'm a sport racer in the 30-39 age group. If I get a team together do I still get individual points for the Sport 30-39 competition as well? Or is it one or the other?

RichZilla
05-11-2007, 05:08 PM
Points for both. I believe, according to what they've got down for rules, you would always race in your 30-39 Sport class. If you're also have a Sport team, then you take your top three racers places and they get points for your team, regardless of anyones age. Teams are Open-Class.

Matthew
05-14-2007, 02:45 PM
You'll get both. Individual season points are seperate from team points.
