Nice hang time, I'll bet he had plenty of time to stain his panties before he hit.

It looks like his bike breaks into about four pieces when he hits the ground. Ouch is right.

I looked at it a few times and I think the skiers in the background make it look that way. But after viewing it a few times, I think the bike stayed together.....but probably didn't look so good after that.....:)

besides riding mountain bikes I do some of the same type of thing only with an engine other than your legs.. I have to admit that the mountian biking I do is just for training to play with my REAL toys.. LOL..

here is a compilation of some nasty crashes off jumps and other obstacles that will make you cringe...

It still hurts when the bottom of the hull caves in..

although it is still dangerous on a bike...I've been tagged by a car on Minnehaha and it wasn't pretty site. I was pushing 38 mph down a rolling hill right before I got tagged..Guy purposely side swipped me and never stopped. My computer still retained my max speed.. Like to find that guy some day!

Wow, I also noticed that the bike broke into various parts. It was almost painful to see it!

The first one.....now that's just plain stupid.....

I have seen the second one. The guy was pretty scraped up but okay. I like how his buddy is more concerned with whether it was filmed or not than if he was okay.....

I do the same Mike, I turned pro mx in 97' moved to California tried to race against the big boys but ran out of money before anything good could happen. I've always used my mtb to train through. I've seen and been part of so many bad crashes that it make me shiver every time I see one now. I'll never give up riding my MC bike, but there is always something that always brings me back to the pedals. I see you must have went to Glamis for the new year, I haven't been there for about 2 years. Can't wait to get back, nothing better than hitting a dune 5th gear pinned.:D

I've been going to Glamis for some time now. For the last three years I parked my toy and auto with trailer in a storage garage down near Glamis and would fly out every month (during the winter season) to spend 4 day weekends there. Glamis is SO unique for those of us from the midwest.. Never knew anything like that existed until 2002. I'm beyond my racing years but still enjoy the sport and allways mix it up with the mountain and road bikes. NOTHING better than cycling to improve your physical endurance and agility for moving on two wheels. I've also had enough rides to the ER for those unfortunate times... In fact that is how I started cycling.. reabilitation after fracturing my (T12/L1) back in an accident on a motorcycle.

Found another video which even has a few pedal two wheelers mixed in with the motored two wheelers.

Over jumping is always better than comming up short. However there is a fine line between over jumping and overdoing it. I over did a 75ft triple and cranked the bars down to the tank when I landed. I was still 15 feet in the air when I passed the landing. I did save it but my umm "jewels" paid a hefty price. I watched my nephews dad face a triple and did some horrible damage. He wound up getting the inside front cover of crash and burn magazine. He now has a team called "Team Jackson".
