I saw this at VintageBMX.com and had to post it. I had one of these from about 1978 -1981. In 1980 the little post that angled back and held the seat up broke off. I put on a regular saddle from a 10 speed and it was much better anyway. Mine was black and had steel mags. It was the bike I learned to bunnyhop on. I was 12 and the bike must have weighed 40 pounds or so.

I thought this was going to be about ACS Mags and TUFF neck stems.

I remember a kid who had a bmx bike with front suspension back in the mid 80's. That thing was about 50 lbs and had SOLID rubber tires. It was a beast.

No. Since I grew up poor, I never kept anything because I always had to sell or trade stuff to get something else or something better. I wish I had kept all my old stuff.....then again, if I had, where would I put it all? I don't have room for the 6 bikes I currently own.....:laugh:

Those look like similar wheels that came on my Huffy. They were black. I know Mongoose made MotoMags and I think Huffy and others just made super heavy copies of them. Solid steel baby.....solid steel!

The web is so cool.
Here is a Mongoose Motomag complete bike. Appearantly the first complete bike BMX Products Inc. made in 1975.

Dude I had that old mongoose. It was a tough bike but heavy. But then again I only weighed 100 lbs when I had it.
