DR is showin' some love for Mpls and singlespeeds...
Includes a (very) short contribution from CRC on why Mpls is just so damn cool.
...and 3 out of 4 test bikes are singles.
Thought the non-subscribers might want to check it out.
:)
How about a link ? I know the website but where is the article

Yes, it looks like the new issue that I recieved yeaterday hasn't made it online yet. The singlespeed article is more of an ad. PG 39.
By far the best pub for them to date. I love this mag. No BS and no butt kissing of the big name ad placers either. They call it like it is in their reviews.

Online does not do it justice, you miss all the ads for the festivals, small frame builders, etc, these are all part of the attraction of the mag.
They have definitely taken the layout and design up a notch lately.

Except for the part where I didn't read my name among the winners in their big contest. Dirt Rag is the best, hand's down. Did you see the new jersey? Very stylie.

I'm tempted to ask Lundell why... but I have the feeling it would just get off topic, and then get moved to the Non-Biking forum.

Dirt Rag sure has pulled in the membership for MORC... it was nice having them out working at Leb last summer :eyeroll: ;)
I think someone else put it this way:
Read Bike when you want to get in the mood to ride
Read MBA when you want to get in the mood to buy something
Read Dirt Rag when you want to get in the mood to vote
Anyway, the mag debate is so 2005... ;) They all have their purpose and faults.

Yea, I shouldn'ta posted that. There is an old magazine thread (or two or three) where this can be debated.
Frankly its not worth it tho... I just wanted to egg on all the Dirt Rag groupies ;) It was my troll move of the day....
.. back to the regular conversation.

Pete is right, why have we never used DR before? I'm sure they haven't written about MORC's work, because no one has ever written DR and asked to put a little tidbit about MORC in their publication.
Pete should do a write up of the Murphy opening with pictures of some of the more unique trail features and send it in this spring. Let's be famous.
We should also submit one of our regular rides to Bicycling magazine. They do a quick list of random local rides, usually road, but why not us?

I've said we should do this since we don't really use on our online banners for much anyhow.
Dirt Rag Magazine has a long-standing reputation for cycling advocacy. As a member of the Thunderhead Alliance, Bikes Belong, The International Mountain Biking Association along with lending support to many local cycling advocacy organizations Dirt Rag has affirmed its commitment to cyclist’s rights. Each issue features the latest from the access front to keep our readers well informed of the fight for road and trail access.
With our affiliate program, we want to give back more. Sign up and earn $5 per subscription sold through your organization’s website or email newsletter.
By featuring a simple banner ad and web link tailored to your organization, your members can sign up for a risk free trial issue of Dirt Rag. If they like it and choose to subscribe, we kick $5 back to the referring advocacy organization. Banner ads are pre-made in an array of sizes (120x60, 120x90, 120x120, 120x240, 120x600, 234x600 or 468x600).

But he is a little off on his Beer recommendations. :etard:
As least DR is good for something ;)

I doubt it. Magazine subscribers are not the people who would walk into their LBS and buy a magazine. If we sold individual issues at the trailhead, that would be a different story.
Now I have an image in my head of some overzealous shop manager tearing all the subscription cards out of all the magazines in the store, giggling evilly all the way.

I don't get the mag so I am just guessing, but...is there a picture on p22 of you smiling with your new GT ride.

I'd be more than happy to do that... with an OK from the MORC Board.
MORC could also get the various annual events listed on their event list. I think the state series is on there, but I don't remember seeing the 24 Hours of Afton. Could put the MORC Summit on there too.

I did send them a smiley picture of me with the bike but they didn't print it. (standards I guess)
Too bad the wool jerseys aren't in yet otherwise I would have donned mine for the pic.

I don't even think the state series is in there. BLAST used to list there races there, but other than that, MN listings have been pretty bare.
I think the Murphy story idea would be great. There aren't many times that we get to do a story on a brand new trail. It could be could PR for us if they'd print it.

Yeah, I'll bet that's your favorite page. I had to look at it twice tonight when I saw a familar MORC forums name in the DR mag. Congrats!
