Deer hunters at Monticello Y camp

I was riding with a group of friends at the Y camp in Monticello on Sunday and ran into a group of deer hunters. Needless to say we cut our ride short. A call to the YMCA earlier in the week assured us that hunting was not allowed. Now we know the real story.
So for next year, avoid riding there during deer season.

Is there anyone that can be called to take control of a situation like this? Sounds like someone could very easily get hurt if there are hunters in an area they don't belong, and bikers/hikers in that same area.

Seems like someone should be able to patrol areas like that...

I don't believe the hunters were trespassing. They were legal. This area just seems out of control. The camp manager does very little management. I don't know who makes the decisions. You never know what to expect. They've had motorcycle races, paintball wars, deer hunters, groups of horses, and of course campers and hikers.
