This is just a reminder to everyone to watch for wet trail conditions. Recent warm weather has created a freeze/thaw condition that can make a trail very soft. Recent rains seem to have mixed with this making some areas pretty slippery. This kind of condition can be very damaging to the trails if we continue to ride.
Just last night we were all surprised to find Lebanon very soft and at some points wet. The parking lot was soaked and even had ice in spots (not sure how the ice was there with all the recent warm weather). The trail has since been closed.
Please do not assume our local trails are dry and available to ride. Check the trails first, and be willing to cancel your ride or a group ride. It is best that we all stay off damp trails.
Hopefully things will either dry out or it will turn cold enough again to freeze things up.
... I can't believe I'm posting this in mid-December.
