Based on the number of riders that maybe involved in this event, would anyone want to ride the bottoms beforehand?
Thanks,
Devin

Here's a possibility for the southeast-siders: Meet at the Sibley house (Mendota), bike to the raft removal, and bike back afterwards. The route would use the dirt road on the south side of the river, across cedar ave, below the refuge (along the river), then take the trail to the raft.
I live in Eagan, so I might bike over to Sibley, but split from the return ride at 494, depending on how hungry or tired I am.

I guess I should find out how long it would take to do the ride from one end to the raft, so I can setup a starting time. Any ideas? I have not ridden the bottoms in over a decade.

I'll likely have my bike down there for a ride after the raft comes out, but not before.

Another one if you are not helpng with the raft pullout is the post from Goat Girl about a tour trails ride.
Bob,
What time would you want to meet at Sibley so we are at the raft at Noon?

This is where he is starting from I believe. I have never ridden from here to the RB, but am willing to try if someone wants to ante up a time. I am going to take the LRT from DT MPLS to FS and then ride over to Sibley. People are welcome to park their cars at my place if they want to join me. I am waiting on a response from Bob as to time.

Thanks for the link. That's the place.
I'm guessing it will be about 15 miles each way. (If anyone knows differently, let us know.) Add some extra time, in case the swamp crossing gets difficult.
So, I'm thinking that we should start the ride around 9:30 am from the road, in sight of the Sibley House. If we get there early, we can ride west of the raft a little bit to waste time. I'll post a separate group ride to avoid confusion.
I *may* try to make this ride, depending on the temperature tomorrow morning and how much I hurt myself trying to ski tonight. Don't wait for me, though -- if I'm not there on time, I likely won't be there at all.

Okay, see you between 9:15 and 9:30 at the Sibley house. Again, if there are northern folks who want to take the LRT down, please let me know. I am catching the 8:51 train at 5th and hennepin tomorrow.
