Back to our regular night ride this week. The last ride of November. :cryin: Weather looks like it might be cooolllddd... but that doesn't stop us.
Post up if you can make it.

I'll be there, but will probably get there late. Thursday 6-8pm is no initiation fee at the Eagan community center.
Don't wait up for me. If I get there late, I'll guesstimate where the group will be, and try to catch you there.
I hope to make this one, but since it's the end of the month I may have the privilege of staying indoors and playing with technology.
I wish I could make it, but it looks like I'll be on Daddy duty this week, so I'm out. Have fun and think warm thoughts.
How cold? Brrrr....Someone bring that propane heater again! I usually can't say for sure if we can make it during the weekdays, but we sure will try to get there at least by 7:00 p.m.

Dan, I think I removed the pesky rock that sent you OTB. I'm basing this on what John and Ted said, but there was a little 3" rock sitting right on the takeoff to the XX log jump (a little ways before Jan's rock). Now it is sitting on the side, ready to take out anyone that rides off of the trail.

That would be the one. I tried to use it as a lip so it was partially my fault for the spill.

I won't be able to make it tonight. I am apartment hunting and I guess doing that when it's this cold is fine with me....:)
Have fun and stay warm!
Aargh! I've got to stop saying I'm going to go to these Leb rides. As soon as I do, something happens to make me not go.
This week, I'm sick
From now on, I'm stealth attending Leb group rides.

I am gonna try to make it but have a sore throat and stuffy head thing. Although, exercising in the cold always clears things up...
I'm out tonight, I have Daddy duty. Plus, I was just outside and I'm almost glad I can't make it tonight, brrrr. Now where's the little smiley with the skirt on?

Thanks, at least it wasn't my good bike. Strange, just standing/pedaling uphill and felt the sinking feeling..... I started tonight at 4:30, my plan was to finish a few then hook up, oh well. See you in a few after my Thursday classes are complete (tonight's class was cancelled). OK, I need a SS frame now....

Last night was tough, we had about a 25 degree drop since the last ride. It is a lot easier if you can ease into it. Even the MN natives were feeling the chill.

Good ride last night. A little slower pace (perfect for me). It was nice to regroup out on the trail.
Maura, you need to figure out what works for clothing. When you start out, you should be a little cold (but not miserable). I like to take a break after about the first 15 minutes to get the fingers and toes warmed up, then I am usually comfortable for the rest of the ride. The important thing is to not over-dress.
On the way home, my thermometer said 13 degrees. It seemed chilly at first, but once we stopped and warmed up after the first climb, I was comfy until my feet started getting cold on the second lap. I might have to try something different on the feet.
Hann-Yu, bummer about the tire. Heath, that was a nice snap on your frame. That's your curse for not riding with the group on the group ride.
Don, it was great seeing you out there, even if you took away my position as group elder.

One positive thing from last night was my Lakes. I have always had problems with cold toes... but last night was the first time ever I didn't have that problem. A little spendy, but so far I'm very impressed.
If people are looking for a winter shoe, this is a great option. Get the 2007 model though, as the 2006 apparently had some issues with the fastener system.
One negative from last night - my freehub not engaging from time to time, usually when I needed a good push over an obstacle. Knee is a bit sore today. I actually had to ride a few sections with the front brake on so I could keep it engaged by pedaling. Its a good thing XTR freehubs are cheap... :eyeroll:

John... you might try to remove the freehub body from the hub and flush it out with solvent. Once dry, flood it with a lighter weight lubricant than what was used originally. I'd suggest something like Phil Wood Tenacious oil.

Jedi Ken know. Phil's Tenacious oil works great for smoothing thing out even in the cold.
