View Full Version : Milaca Ride Sunday 11/26
It is supposed to be 42 degrees and cloudy......well ok 42 degrees on Sunday so there are a few of us headed to Milaca to ride. Meet time is 11:30am at the parking lot by the river park and you can figure we'll be riding by noon. If you've never been to Milaca it is a great ride and it is in the best shape it's been in for probably five years. This is a multi-faceted group, men, women, slow, fast, it all works so everyone is invited.
If you want further details or directions or any such things you can call me at 612-669-4219 and I'll try to help. PM or reply if you are coming so we know to wait if anyone is late. Thanks!
Hope to see you there!
If my 5.5 is not done, you can blame it on *him* who shall remain maleless...argh! I can't even direct him on how I want this bike set-up, let alone ask questions. One of us will be there though....

Rodney and I will be there.
Nita, he who shall remain maleless is shameless if he can't get your bike ready for Sunday. Just compare for him the contrast of all you are doing tonight and tomorrow to prepare your family a wonderful feast. A simple bike build as a thank you is the very least.
How are the pies coming? mine are done. ha!

I'll head up that way for the ride! I should expect about an hours worth of drive time, right?
See ya there, Tiffany:D
It's about an hour from the cities, less if you drive fast but beware of the Highway Patrols it's a pretty easy area to get a ticket, and anyways if we know your coming we'll wait. I think Nita calls that Iowa nice!

It's done!
Nevermind that I was up till 2AM wrenching on a frame so she could ride the Turkey Day gathering at Leb.... but yes, "Its Alive" (insert hysterical Frankenstein laughter here).
Right now the itinerary looks like Leb on Thursday, Mammoth on Friday, Redwing Saturday and Milaca Sunday. See you then.

I maybe in for a easy to intermediate ride. Nothing hard core. I will have to check with my buddy to see if he wants to join us. He has wanted to hit Milca this year. PM me Josh about car pooling.
Rodney and I will be there.

First time back on the computer and it is Friday! At least this year he got to see how much I do all day on Wednesday before we rode Leb on Thursday morning! I burned a beautiful slash in my arm too for one of those pies! He got the bike done in time for the Turkey Ride (as you know cuz we rode on Thursday) and I felt bad because he was up until 2:00 a.m. tweaking it. I guess he earned his male-ful back...heh-heh.
Nita: Bring LOTS of bandaids!

I crash for you, Nita, YOU. You say I do it "fetchingly" so that's all the encouragement I need! Plus, I just love it when you put those band-aids on my elbows...:D

I'm in! Can't wait to see what a bog monster is. :)
Well the forecast has now changed to 44 and mostly cloudy........just to be on the safe side I am bringing extra beer. :)
It's just like the monster under the bed, only it lives in a bog, and it's rocky and bumpy, and sometimes wet, oh yeah tight and twisty too, did I mention it also has it's own bridges?

I would like to do two laps if someone or someones wants to join me. Maybe take it easy for the first lap and then hit the second up a bit faster. But I'd be up for any speed. I am driving so if that person or persons want's to drive with me give me a call tonight 320-493-2262
I don't know street names but it is very simple. Take Central Avenue West from 169, you will come to a Holiday Station on your right at a main intersection, go left for a few blocks and take a right before the high school parking lot and go another couple blocks to a left that leads you into the city park and you will see the cars. I believe the last left you take is at an intersection where there is a Conoco Gas Station.
Here is the link from the Milaca Trail directions from The MORC Trail Guide it tells a little different way that will also work fine. If you have trouble give my cell a call 612-669-4219.

169 North then take the
CENTRAL AVENUE EXIT into Milaca...go into Milaca and pass gas station on the right, go up a few more blocks and take a LEFT ON 2ND STREET NW
Go to the end of 2nd Street NW and that will take you to the city park and where everybody will be meeting.

Yeah, sweet ride! Thanks to everyone that came out to make it a nice afternoon on the trail.
I love when a great group of people get together for a great ride and have this fantastic day to enjoy. It was absolutley spectacular, thanks to everyone who came out to make it so great!!!
On that note I'm looking at the weather and it doesn't look like it is going to be quite as warm next weekend but I still say that everyone should meet up at my place for breakfast on Saturday and then we take off for a Monticello/Jail Trail road trip. So the official invite is out, all those wanting to attend keep your eye on the weather and let me know if you are up for it and we will start the planning! :jumpy:
P.S. A special thanks to John and all the others who did all the work Saturday to continue to make Milaca such a great destination! THANK YOU!!!

Sorry Shad. I had a set amount of time I could ride. I had to get home and spend some quality with the family before they disowned me.
