IMBA Epic Rides (http://www.imba.com/epics/index.html) are why we love mountain biking. They create great memories and inspire us to save trails. To fuel this passion, IMBA has selected three new outstanding routes as Epic Rides inductees for 2006, adding to the 37 great rides we've picked since 1999.
2006 IMBA Epic Ride inductees:
Comfortably Numb, Whistler, BC (http://www.imba.com/epics/comfortably_numb.html)
High Country Pathway, Pigeon River State Forest, MI (http://www.imba.com/epics/high_country_pathway.html)
Santos Trail System, Ocala, FL (http://www.imba.com/epics/santos_trail_system.html)
This year we honor a technically challenging backcountry ride (Comfortably Numb), an 80-mile adventure (High Country Pathway), and a trail system with a state-of-the-art freeride park (Santos Trail System). The sky's the limit to the experiences that the Epic Rides program can embrace. Like the sport itself, the definition of an Epic Ride will continue to evolve. Whether you are into flowing singletrack, hang time, or a mega challenge, IMBA Epic Rides feature something for everyone.
The Epic Rides designation is an honor given through a competitive application process. IMBA Epic Rides are at the top of many mountain bikers' "must-ride" lists. We invite you to nominate your favorite trail (http://www.imba.com/epics/nominate_epic.html) for a 2007 IMBA Epic Ride designation.
