I went for a short ride this morning at the Rice creek trails (Fridley) and snooped around and found a bunch of trails, Log crossings, and bridges. Nice crisp morning air felt good. I was going to take my camera but I guess I will have to go back later today with it. My ride got cut short when my quick release on my rear wheel kept slipping and rubbing the tire. No wonder why nobody uses them on the rear. I knew that would happen but was just testing my luck. Just wanted to let ya know that there is some ok trails in the Fridley area just got to look for them.

I am kinda confused by this statement....are your running a single speed? That is the only case where I have even heard of problems with QR's.
I am thinking you are using a quick release rear skewer, and am having trouble figuring out how the quick release rubs the tire

Glad I'm not the only confused one.

it has to be a single speed, only way to put straight power without any give in the chain at all... i'm goin single in not to long here.
congrats on the first bridge

The tire would move just enough to rub the frame right near the brake pads. I started hearing some funky noise comming from the rear and then noticed it was off center, Then within minutes it was rubbing slightly. I switched back to a solid axle to be sure anyways. It's a 21 speed and I was going up some really steep hills so there was a lot of pressure. No biggy though, I don't mind. I think the hollow axle may have been slightly to long preventing the skewer from getting tight. I did have a good day riding wheelies on my way back home. My longest was over a 1/4 mile then come to a stop sign, so it had to end, Just like my QR.

Went for a ride today and took some pictures finally at Rice creek. I lost 1 picture somewhere in the transfer but here they are anyways. The buck was about a 10+ point and he had a couple sallies with him hiding back further. A bridge and my trusty steed and backpack. The last is just a DH with some tough steps near the top and just behind where I was standing was a log crossing.

Here is one more bridge there was 2 about 10 feet apart. Someone put a lot of work into them. You can just see the end of the other one on the right.
