Hey Folks,

I need your help last night someone broke into my car and stole my most prized possesion.

03 silver Specialized Bighit Expert with the following specs:

Fox Vanilla RC
'04 888
Hadley DH hubs front and back
24" ringle rims
Maxxis tires
one goodridge line to the back brake.
Hayes brakes
e.13 bash guard(w EVIL written on it)
Deore rear der.
Sram Powerlink Chain
Blackspire ring.
Odessey pedals
Truvativ Cranks

The bike is well worn but definitly stands out b/c of the double 24" wheel set-up. The biggest thing that makes it stand out is the ripped and tattered looking seat and the goodridge line to just the back brake. If someone trys to sell it to a local shop please take it!!!!!!!!!!! ALso has Matchvideozine, and marz sticker up by the head tube, ROACH stem guard, and a FOX racing sticker by the seat tube with and EVIL sticker on the back of the seat tube. It was stolen from Oak Grove St., so near loring park.

Its been a real ****ty morning so hopefully someone sees my steed. :hit:

Thanks!
Buck

That sucks. I hope you find it and I hope bad karma follows the tool(s) who took it. The dual 24" set up should be a big help in identifying it.

Good luck.

That sucks Buck. I'll pass the word around to the shops on the east side of the metro for ya. You just never know where they will show up. Hope you get a replacement soon.

oh buck! that is terrible.

I will make a call to all the Penn Cycles (when they open) and tell them to keep their eyes peeled, as well as some other shops in the more southern metro area.

if you cant find it I personally say we take a good-will offering and buy buck a new bike (and some reeses peices) :D .

Dude! That totally sucks!!!! I hope you get it back.

If you don't have a bike by Sat, you can ride mine if you want. I plan to be at Memorial with both of my bikes. You can ride my BigHit while I am out riding around in tights.

Don't the losers bring their goods to the pawn shops.

Hey buck did you report it stolen? and do you have a serial number? and is that how you spell serial?

Hy's Pawn off of lake over by lake and lyndale is always a shop that gets stolen bikes taken to it. fyi.

and Jim, some of the losers that steal bikes take them to LBS because they are just that, losers who don't know better. I have seen it happen at Penn off of lake street -- some dude brought a stolen bike in, and we knew about a stolen bike, did some sneaky tracking, checked the serial number and BAM the guy was caught and the woman got her bike back. Good story... I hope thats the kind of story Buck will have (well, the getting the bike back part). and i dont really want buck to become a woman....

Hopefully the links below will work, its how to reclaim items stolen and sold at pawn shops:

Items pawned in Minneapolis pawn shops and in some suburban and outlying cities are automatically matched against property reported as stolen, lost or recovered with the MPD...

http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/police/about/pawnshop.asp

Also, this is a pretty good list of all the bike shops in the 612, 651, 763, and 952 area codes. Call a couple and send out the description of Buck's bike.

Will keep our eyes out here on the south side. Hopefully she will return to you soon undamaged. If your in need of a ride for Saturday I have a Titus SB that you could use if you dont mind riding a puny 4" travel bike.

BTW is it insured? (guess it only really matters if it is for a replacement value though) Best of Luck

Just called Nick at Lake Street Penn Cycle -- gave him the discription -- soon to email his a photo, etc. He is keeping his eyes peeled, spreading the word about it and will give me a ring if he sees anything.

If I see this bike I will throw a lock on it and wait for the perp and break their kneecaps. All bike thiefs should have their kneecaps broken.

Got renters insurance Buck? If not, look into it for the future, money well spent the last time I had my car stolen (and all it's contents).

Hopefully it won't be an issue and you can get your ride back.

File a report with the police. ASAP

You won't be able to get insurance $$ without it.

Dude ... that sucks!!! I have had a bike stolen before, caught the guy and then couldn't prove it was my bike to the police officer(no serial #) and watched the a$$hole walk away with my bike. I eventually got it back and the person paid for it big time. I hope they catch this guy. Definately check the ebay, amazon and craigslist web sites. Your bike is too unique not to notice. :etard:

Werd up guys!

Thanks for all the help!!! Luckily being that I am a full time student my parents insurance covers me.(thank god for that or I wouldn't be riding for aloooooong time.) So I've already started that process.

Big shout out to who ever from Erik's sent out the company wide e-mail much appreciated! Thank you.

Thanks to the peeps on here spreadin' the good word. I fear getting a new bike cuz I had this bike soooo dialed for me...uuuh. Anyway I filed a report with MPD right away and was told it would go out to local pawn shops and stuff. Such a stand out bike that I hope it shows up some where. Even if its unrideable.

If ya see anyone rocking a tan oakley jacket with a skull and cross bones(green eye patch) on it and a Red Bull branded Dakine nomad hydration pack...well that's the guy since he stole a bunch of clothes and stuff too. Fukn fukr.

uuuuh.

buck, to use those 24 inch wheels of yours if you cant find the bike, i hear that union street is getting in a new shipment of molly maguires. http://www.unionstreetbikes.com/1images/unionphotos/unionsmaller.jpgseriously though, good luck finding it. that sucks that someone thinks they could take such a unique looking bike and get away with it
