IMBA's flagship program, the Subaru sponsored IMBA Trail Care Crew (http://go.imba.com/site/R?i=RUUpC8AfxM3VNOxMj4CA2Q..) will celebrate its tenth year in 2007. The impact of this program has largely contributed to the stewardship and land conservation ethos of tens of thousands of trained volunteers, all dedicated to sweet singletrack trails.
In 2002, former Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew members Joey Klein and Rich Edwards had worked on over 500 trails in all 50 states and a dozen foreign countries. It was common for Joey and Rich to hear land managers lament how much more great trailwork could be accomplished if only they would stay a few more weeks, or even months, rather than the typical TCC weekend event. And from this need, IMBA's Trail Solutions (http://go.imba.com/site/R?i=W-z7EvueDigqlMRNOvM-MQ..) program was born. Today IMBA's Trail Solutions has a team of five full-time and three part-time, dedicated, professional trail-builders. Land manager demand for their trail assessment, design, and construction services has only increased.
And this is why I am writing to you again today. Your contribution to IMBA's 2006 Trailbuilding Fund (http://go.imba.com/site/R?i=3e88rB4sCh4Sq8KxC8UdBw..) will help us meet this growing demand. I want to invest another $50,000, or more, in IMBA's stewardship and trailbuilding programs in 2007.
Your gift of $40, $60, $100—or more, if possible—will fund:
Research and development of innovative trailbuilding techniques.
Trailbuilding tools and equipment as we increase our trailbuilding program capacity.
Design and construction of model mountain bike trail systems providing the ultimate riding experiences. And every dollar you donate will be matched up to $25,000 by a national foundation grant. Our $50,000 goal is well within reach.
Please donate to the Trailbuilding Fund (http://go.imba.com/site/R?i=K-NjvjH6CN9AAe3aj-dWzw..)before your next ride. Let IMBA's Trail Solutions and Trail Care Crews know, with your generosity, how much you appreciate their work.
Sincerely,
