Once again we're at it at Leb, weather permitting. The weather doesn't look so good this week, but lets worry about that when the time comes.

For now, charge em' up - this is your Levis warmup ride!

Post up if you will be there.

Since Salem was canceled tonight, I am even more fired up for Thursday night to test out the new rigid carbon fork on the SS. Should be interesting in the dark.

I am giving blood on Thursday, but if they don't tap too much and leave me light-headed, I'll be there.

From the looks of the weather forecast it looks like Thursday night will be our best opportunity to ride this week, so count me in!

It might be cold, but it should be dry, just dress accordingly.

UPDATE: not looking so good out right now...so probably no riding.

Bump!

Forecast looks good for a drying tomorrow, so I'm betting we're still on!

6:45 we leave the lot for 2 laps of the most fun night riding you will ever have.... hope to see a good turnout!

Do you think anything would be dry in the morning?

Not sure. We got some rain/snow mix today and there isn't much wind out there right now. You could try it out and let us know...

Since I have to drive pretty far to check out anything, I'm hesitant  I'll probably just hit the road in the morning.

I haven't seen but I'm betting we will be just fine for the ride.

We're on, we ride!

I plan to be there, but might be a few minutes late. If so, I'll call John or Ted.

My excuse de'jour for being slow is that I gave blood today.

It's MEA and my daughter is at my Mom's for the weekend.

I'm in!!!! For both laps!!!!

I need some help before the ride.
My last night ride was the first time I caught the "B" run and I figured out that:

Someone yells "B" and starts the mad dash for the parking lot.
At some point during this "race" the remaining letters "E" "E" "R" are called out.
It all ends at the lot.

So...what, if any, are the rules for this event? Is something supposed to happen when the remaining letters are called?

In theory the pace is not supposed to go all-out until "R". You are not allowed to call out two letters in a row. That about sums it up.

The revised rule is that R cannot be called until I cross the Dream-II rock.

Cool. Thanks Ted, Bob. See ya'll tonight, 6:45.

The revised rule is that R cannot be called until I cross the Dream-II rock.

But Bob, since you'll be running a quart low, what if you don't have enough oil pressure to stay in the lead pack? :D

Some may be over the finish line by then.

Then they'll just have to go back for a penalty lap.

tedsti

As long as it is around the beginner loop and "provisions" are allowed that wouldn't be too bad.

Then they'll just have to go back for a penalty lap.

I think you gave up the right to make rules the night you tried to whisper "B" and then sneak out towards the lot without anyone noticing:p

Oh, and another rule - Contact is encouraged if not expected....both bike and body!

Watch out for the rock though! :p

Here's another unwritten rule I learned last time... hold back and let John bomb up the first few hills so he wears himself out and is vulnerable when the R comes out ;)

I think only the first 4 people to the XX entrance get to have a letter, and they are assigned in reverse order.

Hope we don't scare people off with this new game... :beer_yum:

You mis-heard. That was "T" that I mumbled. I was spelling TIRED.

No. John got it backwards. It's the LAST 4 people to the X entrance that get to call the letters. Otherwise, there would be no reason to regroup.

You guys are already making me tired...and........thirsty!

I think we need these new rules in writing:D

Instead of spelling B-E-E-R, we should spell "O-k-t-o-b-e-r-f-e-s-t" (I think I spelled that right..):D

We're talking XX entrance, not X. :D Gives those who are willing to put in the initial effort a bonus.

The X entrance before the final push is a mandatory re-group. Letters cannot be called out until everyone is there.

Maybe we could reserve the B and the E for the last 2 people turning their lights on and only reward E and R to the initial race.

Yup, we need these in writing. I like the o-fest idea.

This has got "Calvin Ball" written all over it!

If someone yells "B" on the first lap, do we have to turn around and race back to the lot?:D

The single cog doesn't provided enough weight to hold down the back of the bike.
Another reason to stick with gears.:D

There seemed to be a bit of an epidemic of that going around last night.
