I sent a comment to Burnsville Park website about keeping Terrace Oaks open longer and got an email today on it, not this year but they are gonna discuss considering a later closing date in the future. Email: ( I removed any email addresses)

I appreciate your following up on the request and I look forward the committee's feedback.

This is something that I will bring up before the Terrace Oaks Trail Committee to start the process.
The Trail Committee was formed a number of years ago so that all of the groups with an interest in Terrace Oaks and the trail system could meet to share ideas and concerns. The committee has representation from the City (Parks, Natural Resources & Recreation), mountain bikers, hikers, skiers and people with environmental/natural resources concerns. We meet twice a year to assure that everyone shares their views & concerns and to try and keep all of the different groups included in decisions and to keep everyone informed on what is going on in the park.
Since there are so many different groups that have an interest in the park, we look at a lot of issues from different perspectives. Most anything proposed by one group affects the other groups involved so we have to weigh in everybody˘s concerns. So as I mentioned above I will bring up the extended closing date with the committee and see what sort of a response I get.
As for now we will still be closing the bike trail at dusk on October 15.
Thank you,
