I woke up Saturday morning with a jones for a project, and it just so happened I had one in mind.

Respaced/redished the rear wheel, rotofixed (http://204.73.203.34/fisso/eng/schpignone.htm)on a track cog (with a BB lockring for psycological security), slapped on a bunch of parts from my junk bin, and rode it over to my buddy's house to watch the game on Sunday.

Took a total of about 4hrs worth of work, and $0.

I've always said that brakeless on the road is stupid, but I'm also prone to do stupid things when left to my own devices.
Plus, it's just so SEXY without brake calipers uglying it up!!

that's a sick looking little bike you got there. I should've taken pictures when I was fixing my first bike, because it was an adventure to say the least...

Thanks guys! I like it - I've been thinking of it as "The Chick Bike From Hell".

I prefer to run freewheels through the winter until they "Fix" themselves. Or completely blow up. :D

I'm due to take pictures of it actually, I think I'm going to be switching tires soon, seeing as how it's going to freaking SNOW! Hahaha, I love minnesota so much.

But I'll post up the 2 versions, the winter ride with fender, clipless pedals, and big ol' nasty cross tires, and the summer ride with cages, clips, straps, and slicks that should be replaced soon because i just skid way too much...

I've got a set of sweet new track wheels on their way from IRO (http://www.irocycle.com/), so I'll post some pics of my 'serious' fixie once I get them bolted on...

All it needs now is a uber cool coaster brake for your added security and well being. Sweet ride man. I'd be proud to cruise around on that machine.

Awesome job! Was that a 70's vintage Motobecane?

Coaster brake?! BOO! :p

Bob, it's actually a Nishiki - probably late 70s, gauging by the Suntour mechs... I shoulda taken a pic of the cool headbadge...

that seat looks like its pointed a little high. does your junk get lonely and need a little rub while you are riding?
