One thing that will help is that you turn the bars 90 degrees, which you might already be doing, and push the grip on the inside down as hard as you can and away from your body. At the same time, bring the leg on the pedel up in as close to your body as you can and up.

That should help, you have to snap it hard. Say snap out loud or in your head. I know it sounds stupid, but it works and helps you be more aggressive at the move.

For super mans just practice them while riding straight, just jump up, kick your legs back, then back on, all while on the ground. Then take that to the jumps. Thats how i learned no-footers.

Oh and for no handers, evrey time i try i tend to lose balance mid way through then land awkardly. Some times its hard to mentally take my hands off the bars. Tips?

don't start out by just throwing your hands off. just try to get both hands to let go. they don't even have to come that far off the bars.
once you get used to that start moving them farther and farther off the bars.

i agree with mike, plus, you might be getting squirrely from not holding your bike right. Try clamping your legs onto your seat, just squeez your legs in, should hold your bike steady, i do it alot when i'm throwin out moto whips and have been tryin no hander doin that, the bike is solid for me.

definitely, it works the same for just about anything involving taking your hands off. squeeze the seat in between your knees. not only will it keep your bike with you, but it makes you feel a lot more secure in letting go.

For no-hander practice, try doing a manual and pinch the seat while taking the hands off. This gives you a pretty good feel at to how it works in the air. Same with barspins......do them in a manual first. That way you learn how to catch the bars at full rotation. You can do 1/2 barspins too, but I am not sure how that works on mountain bikes when landing with the bars backwards. Also you obvisouly have to have the cables and fork for those. One reason I do like to run a singlecrown fork...:)

or you could just do an old school no hander like me and tuck the bars into your chest so your bars stay in place. It is easier for me to do it that way.
