We would just like to emphisize that Milaca is in better condition now than it has been for several years past. NOW is the time to ride!! The school loop, aka BOG MONSTER, is open!! which hasn't been for two or so years (new bridge thanks to the city of Milaca)! Several people have also done a great job cleaning up the overgrowth. Also, the trail is the driest it's been for years. Another good reason is to get your last few laps in on Sky Hill. Development will possibly be claiming the land next summer. For those of you who have never ridden Milaca check out the review page (http://www.morcmtb.org/trailreviews/northwest/milaca.shtml) for great pics. Again, it's never been better to ride Milaca. We should get a group ride going. RIDE MILACA!!!

Is this near St. Cloud? I had been thinking it would be fun to do Milaca - St. Cloud - Elk River....

Milaca is about 30 miles NE of St Cloud. That would be fun to do all 3. I did Elk River - St Cloud one afternoon a few weeks ago. Great work out, I just wish there wasn't a car ride inbetween.

I've still never ridden Milaca, perhaps this weekend if the weather holds up.

If there was a group ride, I'd be interested in checking out Milaca. Is it well marked or is it better to go with someone, ala Battle Creek?

are there any races out there? in the past I thought i've heard of a few grass roots Singlespeed races. maybe i'm thinking of something else.

As for Milaca, anyone who has never been there get there! when the trail is good it is the best system around. every type of riding Minnesota basically has to offer in one place.

This year there is only the CX race next weekend. http://www.rumrivercx.com/flyer.html However, we are thinking about a race up there next year.

I'll be at a conference in St. Cloud over the next few days so I will definitely have to try and hit it. Probably Friday afternoon.

As others have said, If you've not ridden Milaca, you owe it to yourself to get there when the conditions are good. It's a great ride. Plenty of distance. If everything is open, you're looking at about a 13 mile loop. Sweet!

This is a long trail which can be painful to try twice in one day. The beginning is tame and then then the end known as sky hill can be brutal. Fun trail overall that is definintely worth the haul.

Two trails actually, the Jail Trail and Plum Creek, the second seems to be called River Bluff now...

More info available at midmncycling.org (http://www.midmncycling.org/Pages/where_we_ride.html)

Dang, these should be linked to in the MORC trails guide for NW MN. I never knew these trails were there. Thanks!

**I would vote for a spot on MORC for St. Cloud Trails. there is actually a few other riding spots that could get on there.

There is a great loop that could take visitors on 4-5 different systems (approx 20-25 miles) with maybe 15% riding on roads

Had a chance to ride Milaca Friday afternoon.

What a treat!! Definitely in great shape. It had been a few years since I'd ridden it, and I was quickly reminded of why I like this trail so much. Nice long loop with a little bit of everything. The changing colors in the leaves, wildflowers and grasses we're beyond description. It was a perfect day for a ride on a great trail.

Met up with Tim Dalton and the crew getting the trail ready for the cross race the next day. Nice talking with you guys. Thanks for the up-keep!

Get out there and ride it folks!!
