Anybody know a local place where one can get a syringe (20-60mL) and a graduated cylinder (250mL)? I'm thinking some kind of medical supply or lab supply shop.

It'd be nice to have a couple quality reuseable plastic pieces for accurately measuring and pouring fork oil. I've found both on the internet, but never from the same place, and syringes tend to not be sold individually.

(The syringe is useful for adding oil to the lowers of RS forks and essential for bleeding PURE dampers.)

Fleet Farm sells some pretty big syringes. Not sure about exact sizes but they are used for livestock. I used to use them when bleeding my magura brakes.

Automotive department of Wally World usually has 60cc syringes without rubber near the fuel stabilizers and such.

Fleet Farm has all different sizes in the horse area, but they have rubber plungers which swell up so they are only good for one use.

The way to do it is use the Fleet Farm syringe, but don't use the plunger. Just put your finger over the little hole, and fill to the right level. Then, hold the syringe over your fork, move your finger, and let gravity dump it in.

Of course, I was just about done with both forks before figuring this one out.

Any one in particular? Bob's cycle is good for oil, but their fork kit with oil syringe is an arm and a leg. Checker is worthless. How about Napa? I'll proally head up to FF tonight as it's close to my house. That place is proally the coolest store ever.

a lot of med syringes are urethane based and deform when in contact with oils. another reason to go automotive.

I got a 3-pack of syringes from FF and haven't noticed enough swellage to make them quit working. I used them for both fork and brake juice. I don't think I payed more than $10 for them either.

The marzocchi graduated cylinder can be ordered from any LBS.

The MixMizer is intended for use with oil and doesn't break down. I've found them at auto parts stores and moto shops.

I bought a kit from the Hitching Post in Hopkins. The other place to check might be hobby stores like Hub Hobby that have fuel R/C stuff.

Head out to FF and get some syringes. Have several 30mL and some 90mL versions. Only variation in them is to avoid the hep lock feature. You just want the basic version.

Use large syringes for forks and the small ones for hydros.
