So if a group were to go and ride 9-mile over a weekend... where would one camp? Anything else to know about the area?

The camping for Gnome Fest is right by the chalet. I think this is where the 24 by 9 camping takes place. I think this is the number for Marathon County parks: 715-261-1550.
Why not just gather your krewe and head to GnomeFest?

I'm kinda wondering if camping isn't allowed in that area during non race events.
I'll post up in mtbr and email the parks service to see what they suggest as well.

I just camped and rode 9 mile this past weekend. We camped at Rib mountain (on top of the ski hill), and was a great campsite. About $12/night, plus a $10/day car fee. About 3 miles from the 9 mile trail head. Ride 9 mile...definately worth the drive!!! Check out link below for rib mountain info, as well as some other camp sites.

I suppose it helps for me to look at posting dates before jumping to conclusions. John was there when we camped at Rib Mtn last year. I don't think he's going senile yet.
Anyway, camping there was excellent.

I've done Rib Mtn as well. Close, cheap and works for what you need it to do.
