The city of Elk River is considering holding a series of races this fall at their Hillside location. The exact particulars are not yet set in stone, but they do have a rough plan. So far they are looking at having 3 races on either a Tuesday or a Thursday night. Probably starting the week of August 29th. Race start around 6pm - need to get done before dark.:) Entry fee around $10, trail pass included in that. Prizes from local shops. Beginner, Recreational, and Advanced classes. Casual atmosphere.
If you haven't been there, it's a 25-30 minute drive to get there from Plymouth, slightly longer with after work traffic (5-10 minutes, my friends drive in it to meet me there). The trail is about 7 miles long, no huge Buck Hill-like climbs, very flowing singletrack, all in the woods with rolling hills.
Anyone and everyone who would even consider checking this out is encouraged to post a reply up on this thread so they can get an idea of how much schwagg to bring! Nothing is finalized, so if you've got suggestions or comments, post them up. Let them know which day you prefer.
