View Full Version : lone lake re-opening
Would anyone be interested in trying to get Lone Lake park in Minnetonka re-opened for us? I don't think it would be that difficult if we had enough people (especially Minnetonka residents) in on it to convince the city council to do so. I know that when it was closed in the first place, not many people showed up to the city council meeting, so the decision was easy for them to make. I think all it would have taken was some local voices saying it was a good thing for the city, and it would have stayed the way it was before. Maybe with the help of MORC we might be able to get the park back!

We need someone that is a Minnetonka resident to step up to the plate on Lone Lake. Hopefully they could rally other Minnetonka mountain bikers to work with the Park Department. Since this is a City Park it will take residents to get this done. MORC can assist with our history and recommendations by other land managers in the metro area.

Yeah, as I remember the issue was that it was mostly non-Minnetonka residents who were fighting to keep this trail open and that didn't sit well with the Minnetonka park board, I guess.
As a non-Minnetonka resident and a fan of the trail I'd be willing to assist in any way I can.

Are there any mountain bikers in Minnetonka? It seems that everyone who used to use this trail was from somewhere else. Maybe they are too busy taking care of their lawns...
