A proposed Montana forest plan revision could set a dangerous national precedent by closing hundreds of miles of singletrack to bicycles.

Any idea why they want to close so much single track. 400 miles is A LOT!

I'll send this off to all my friends that ride for their support also. It saddens me to read how Special Interest Groups are looking to eliminate Mountain Bikers form existing trails to preserve and protect the natural resources of this great country of ours. The biggest disparity of this mindset, is that we the people of this country, are its greatest asset and natural resource. While trails and other outdoor activities that require physical endurance are becoming more elusive; we the American public are becoming more and more obese. Walk around your local Mall or better yet go to Valley Fair like I did with my family two weeks ago. The sights that you will see will amaze and disgust you at the same time. People in general no longer resemble humans, they have become an undulating mass of grotesque fat that is from years of self indulgence and absolutely no physical expenditure at all. I can remember growing up where there was always one or two fat kids in school and they were unmercifully teased by their peers because they were so different (kids can be cruel). Now, 200 pound Elementary school kids are seen on TV getting counseling and 500 pound Junior High Kids are getting Bariatric stapling so they can live long enough to graduate High School. It seems to me that we have our priorities disjointed. I can only hope that this trend, like all others, will reverse itself and the next generation has the foresight to get their act together. Whew! Sorry for the rant, it just kills me to see how stupid we as a society can be at times. Alan
